Has anyone bought and tested the TM TQS?
-
Okay when i klick on “New Configuration” the “Viper BBox” is shown but "Disconnected
Case opend at TM Support

@Echo I have the same problem. The firmware is up to date as far as I can see. Not too fussed at the moment as I stopped using TARGET many, many years ago. But it might be necessary to control the lights.
-
If you have the Viper TQS Mission pack and if you click on “F16 viper TQS” then, further on in TARGET, in the programming pages, you will have access to both the throttle and the BBox
-
But shouldn be it “connected” ?
-
@Echo
It is through the “F16 viper TQS”, since the two form a single unit. But it’s true that the picture doesn’t tell the whole story.
“F16C viper Bbox” is for those who only own the BBOX, without the TQS. -
My question is how do we get the lights to come on?
-
@MailMan
I couldn’t…
TM just pended my question about failure in supporting TARGET.
I am just playing my TQS by setting the AXIS, KEY in BMS game. -
@Tradio I have never really used Target before. Looks like more trouble than what it worth. Alt Launcher Keymapping is so easy. I just wanted to see if I could get the indicator lights to work with Target. I do know if you run a Target Profile, anything you have programmed in Alt Launcher gets over road. So until they come out with firmware that supports BMS, I guess we are out of luck. Maybe if the get bogged down with messages, they will get on the ball
-
Your are correct, and exactly what support wrote to me.
The software only shows connected if ONLY the panel is connected.
And they gonna make it better in later releasesSo you can address both in the T.A.R.G.E.T when you create a profile, where the additional axis is also added from the panel
In the Picture you can see all TQS axie + the panle axie

Just got this from Thrustmaster support:

to meHello James
We thank you for contacting Thrustmaster Technical Support.
We can confirm you that this week a new version of T.A.R.G.E.T. came out, where the TQS will find his full functionality.
Unfortunately at the moment we are still working on a manual regarding the LED’s, but to confirm to you already that these LED’s are present in the device and normally will work in the near future.Thank you for your patience,
We wish you a nice day and remain at your disposal for any further questions.Best regards,
Bruce, your Thrustmaster agent. -
@ViperDriver
Good news - Thanks. -
@Echo Enabling Virtual Buttons messes up my controls. When it is disabled it works fine when I use the button release option in the BMS Launcher.
After enabling virtual buttons does it work for you?
-
You actually already can switch the LEDs on the button box. You need to create events to enable/disable them in the Target Software.
Fiddled around with them yesterday. From my memories the LEDs are:
LED 1-3 is Nose/Left/Right Wheel various colors
LED 4-13 below the jettison button green led
LED 14-18 RWR Aux buttons. Alt/Low has a red and a green led, others are green only
LED 19 (the last in the list) is LG handle, red ledOne serious thing to note for the RWR Aux buttons:
The black printing is on top of the button and it’s something that gets sticky very quick (just like the „soft stuff“ most mouse devices today are covered with). It’s some „rubber like“ print. Best is to wear gloves if you use them a lot. While pressing them a lot yesterday evening, one already peels of and is stick and more or less unreadable.….will contact TM support on that soon…:

@Echo said in Has anyone bought and tested the TM TQS?:
After 20 years of Service a new Era has started…
Both describes say that it is 1:1 scale but seems to me the new one is bigger than the old cougar throttle.
So which one is the right ? -
@AviationPlus
Yes i have activated the vitual buttons, and no they are not “recognized” allways thats why i also used the “release” workaround.But with another Sim they are recognized were well so, i left it activated.
I can make some better shots von diffrent angle if your interessted ?

@Echo
Can you please tell me what are the actual physical dimensions of the Viper TQS + Mission Pack (length, width, height)?
Thanks,

@Rouge1512
Thanks Rouge1512! In the bottom picture, where the red and blue lines terminate, are those mounting holes?? Something I can screw a bolt into?

TC2 -
Yes : 6 mm screw.
I don’t know which throttle you have, but 11 cm is the same size as the width of the mounting points on the Warthog, so I was able to use the same Monstertech plate as for the Warthog (two mounting points, which is sufficient).
