Marker Rockets LAU-68/131 /WP

To the particle- and effects-experts out there !
I would really appreciate the LAU-68/131 /WP working as a real marker-rocket (smoke on the ground, like in AF ie.) as this would provide
an extra tactical feature on our RedFlag server for the pilots.
As FAC is not working yet, i though the new moddified recon-planes could at least mark the units for the humans.Thanks in advance.
Edit: bump, figured it … took the BDU-33 D/B warhead.

Just noticed this as well today in a mission… Fired what I thought would be WP and got HE instead.
Any ideas how to fix? Otherwise FAC will have to drop BDUs to mark? I tried each rocket type.

I remember running out of options back in days (omg, this post is old).
I wanted desperate the RF FAC flights carry and use those (at best with different collors) …to mark units for humans on the server, but no success unfortunatly. They work in AF…i tried everything i knew…maybe someone else can pick up. -
Guys, I think it’ll need code change in order to be able to fire 1 rocket every time and not the entire set. Then I guess when this is working, all you will need is a PS effect that you can call via weapon’s .dat file.

That… more ground battles visible …(especially night)… flak fire with longer floaint puffy smoke clouds…there is soo much coool stuff could be done. And yeah… why is the SUN oval not round?

speaking of atmosphere…
Yes AS ground fights at night and more ligts explosions add very much to the atmosphere and romance of war. Maybe some signal pistols, used by ground units, could be nice. I forgot which sim it was i played 10 years ago, but flying high at nights, you could see lots of “lightning explosions” all over the theater on the ground. This realy gave you a feeling, you are in a war and some big stuff is going on down there.

to create some lightning, some illumination, which then could be seen from above. Why, to create some atmosphere. Lightning effects in sim as in real life are always cool.

So … no signal pistols … you are talking about tracers and explosions.
IRL, there is not soooooooo much explosions. I mean … no every seconds. On the FLOT, we would need one flash here and there every 30 to 180s and some tracers … -
Dee-Jay, im talking about everything that creates lighting or illumination on the battlefield. But what you say sounds interesting, once a flash here and there every few seconds. sounds like this could be done very easy, but adds a little to the atmosphere.
this is a signal pistol that i ment. There exists a smaller one, with a paraglider on it.
fast forward to the scene from movie “private ryan” 1:13:25. ofc this is only hollywood. The phrase, “romance of war” i have from a “makeing of video” of saveing private ryan, and specialy from that scene.

add those flashes only where there is an agged unit? and then the flashes for regular combat inside the 10 mile bubble would mix with flashes from further away.

In relation to the WP, this would be a great edition to the sim. It was active in AF as I recall. However don’t we have the ability to FAC via the TGP and datalink? (Not taking away from the idea of WP actually working correctly however A.S)

I meant this (pic). The AI FAC flights (OV-10D in this case) are Recon planes …“spotting” units (so they also become visible in 2D without JSTAR) and an On Call Cas is coming in with time delay to take care of them.
Would be nice if the OV-10D could “mark” stuff (attack so to speak) with WP-rockets, so humans could pick up the fight visually aswell
and support the efforts.Just ideas to make all fancy-ier

Ive been after that for a real long time…I would like to be able to load them on a Blk.50 and use it as a FAC and be able to “Mark” for other members of a CAS package…But I havent been successful in persuading anyone with “Power” to have a look and get it done as yet…I think it requires a Code Change or something…But it should would make my day for me I can tell you that…
