RELEASE: Blk40/42 HUD Mod
-
You can do it if you know LE.
You need to open it’s model DB, make 5 new parents: 3120, 3121, 3122, 3123 and 3124, write all settings just like the standard parents, then add 5 new LODs, the ones within the manual installation archive, apply those lods to the parent records mentioned above and then add 4 new textures to DB (also from the archive).
After that it’s good to go.Someone knows how to create new parents with LE?
I didnt found anything about this in the LE manual. -
Is there LE Manual…?
-
Yes… search for RAM22.pdf…
-
Is there anyway to uninstall this mod?

Is there anyway to uninstall this mod?
you should find the uninstaller in main falcon bms folder
-
Is there LE Manual…?
mostly I just use the manual that metalhead included with his F22 mod.
I think that covers new parents…

@ Arty… Off Subject and a bit of a joke
Your hotlist is excellent and I was wondering if we could just “pin” you to the forum so we could have easy access at finding it!
-

I’ve got probably a bit of a novice question. I installed the mod but I still get the normal HUD. I’ve checked the configuration and looked if I first needed to enable the mod for it to work but I couldn’t find anything. Is there someone here that can help me on my way?
Edit: Never mind running the game as administrator seems to have done the trick.

Not sure what you know so some starting points.
A quick way to check if the mod is installed correctly is by selecting a block 40/42 F16 in “Dog Fight” mode.
As well as appending new cockpit Parent and LODs the Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Art\ckptart\F-16C-40\3dckpit.dat needs to edited in notepad (or replaced) to refer to the new parents. The same applies for the F-16C-42 and the similar cockpit night textures in Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Art\ckptartn
If you believe the new Parents in 3dckpit.dat are correct you should be able to view the new cockpit Parent/Lods in LOD Editor by entering the new parent number next to the “Normal” button before clicking it. When the new Parent record opens switch the edit mode button to _view mode_and check the new models are shown.
Edit: Never mind running the game as administrator seems to have done the trick.
Glad you got it sorted, if you still have issues - which install method/video did you use? - I’ll try to help
-
I used the installer 2.04 version.

I used the installer 2.04 version.
Ok, just be aware the installer was created around 2012-02-01 and so replaces some of the u5 files with older versions.
IIRC it should work with u5 but you will need to disable the mod and restore the u5 versions before making bug reports.

Hi, I just installed Molnis’ 80’s theater, which includes this mod. I have not used it before, but I find the top of the HUD frame completely obscures the upper half if the gun funnel in dogfight mode and whatever is there in the other modes. Can this be adjusted in any way using the .dat files? has anyone else noticed this issue? Or is it somehow specific to the filers included in the theater mod….
Thank you, Mark

thats normal (or at least I assume so). thats what happens to me…
now, what would be nice is having it adjusted to fit - although I guess we would need a block 40/42 -43-1-1…
