Am I the only one who's missing something?

@Faman:
Back in the old days playing the original Falcon 4.0 it was common routine to keep the nose up after landing to bleed off speed till the nose dropped down because there was no lift anymore.
In other words to use aircraft as a speedbrake during the landing after touchdown.
It gave a good sense and naturally feeling of landing the F-16.
Now this was and is totally missing since the socalled “Dance” started in 2000 I think. No speed is bled off and the nose doesn’t drop down naturally, instead you have to start wheelbraking immediately like an idiot!
Very unrealistic especially for a BenchMark Sim…Maybe they went into the “numbers” too much but I want the original landing routine of Falcon 4.0 back! Maybe even better then before, improved…
Please-please-stop wheelbraking and use the natural airbrake of the plane instead in a new or next patch.Thank you for your attention!
Aerobraking is working perfectly well in bms and I will not spend time to explain you why previous FM was 100% wrong in this area
Some tips :
You just need to learn how to do it properly
First : check that your throttle is well calibrated to zero when idle
Second :aerobraking is inefficient under 13 deg aoa so keep 13 deg or more ( If you had read dash 1 you would know)
Third : if you keep 13 deg you will see you will be able to bleed speed and to let the nose drop between 80 and 100 it depending on you weight. If you stay at 11 deg aoa you will not bleed speed and your nose will not go downIn short learn to fly the real f16 , apply the real procedures instead of bitching that the habits you took on an arcade game flight model were realistic !!
I can read everything but BMS FM unrealistic , I can’t LOL

Hmmmm…I think you are wrong Faman
You need to keep the nose up to 13 degrees. It WILL bleed speed. And dont forget to hold the speedbrake fully opend by holding your speedbrake switch pulled. In landing configuration your boards are limited in how far they open. You can override this by pulling the open-airbrake switch.
(I just noticed I posted together with Mav)

Open them fully after you’ve put the nosewheel on the ground!
-
Indeed. Thnx.

How heavy are you and how short is the runway you’re trying to land on?

75kg and she’s about 175cm. Why’d you want to kn… Oh, wait.

A male pilot is a confused soul:
He thinks about women while flying.
And thinks about flying when he is with women.…this is starting to remind me of a discussion about Refueling…
Some people had some great metaphors for that also, (It ruined some moments for me still months later) -

purely out of interest, how many tires have you blown so far?

Damn she’s tall. How big are her radar domes?

You guys made me lough at work and I had to do some explanations to my wife about it .
Good one -
That’s strange because I joined a virtual squadron over the summer and the first major skill I learned was correct landing procedures, and found out just how long you can keep the nose up and bleed airspeed upon landing. Didn’t touch the wheelbrakes until the nose dropped, well under 100 kts (I want so say closer to 80+kts)
Speaking of radar domes anyone see the Russian Rocket’s wife on Hockey Night in Canada last night??
-
It does seem that the wheel brakes are more robust that aerobraking between 100-80knt in BMS.
If true irl, aerobraking increases the longevity of the brake pack. -
I’ve managed a tail strike while aerobraking at 85kts. The nose looked like it was going to slam into the ground so I pulled back on the stick, evidently too hard, and my nose shot up and tail scraped the runway. I figured elevator authority would be zero at 85kts….

Start lowering the nose Slowly when passing through 100kts. That will keep you from getting this.

I usually do, but this time the nose ran away from me….in both directions

happened to me more than once. good to practice!

FAman brother…in the words of my mentor…CHECK YOUR FIRE!!!CHECK YOUR FIRE!!!..Sound like your coming in to hot….
FYI what i do: start at ramp load up some JUDAS PRIEST…hit the throttle fly like hell has no bound and land like ya mean it.
short and hard…ho ya the best of RAM-it-Down…1998…peace out…NEVER SATISFIED track work toooo… -

Jp has the mg-WoW switch close when aerobraking under 90knt (depending on GW). In WoW on, the FLCS goes from landing gains to ground gain. Pitch rate control is replace with manual control with pitch rate dampening. So the stick become really pitchy.
