Crosswind Landings / "Impossible Landing" TE / Crosswind landing advice
-
Actually, I do video editing and have done some fun stuff including F4… been meaning to do a nice BMS one, just lazy.
-
Awful approach!
@phait:Yup, all those things mentioned I have yet to (re)learn. I just wanted to attempt it as is for fun/challenge.
Maybe learning to make a proper approach and landing without wind could be also a good challenge for you as a beginning
Just for the joke …
Is your pilot in a permanent hypoxia?
-
Err. Not much more to say here. The others have said it quite well.

If you’re not going to apply the Drift C/O switch (i.e. pin the FPM to HUD Center), then put the FPM on the runway and fly to hold it there …. your FPM was all over the place … like you were flying the ‘nose’ of the plane and not the FPM.
(MHO, :2cents: and worth what you paid for it.)

Alright, it took a few months to get a timeframe to upload that video with a whopping 0.2Mbit upload speed, but there it goes:
Sorry for being late, but the internet is so incredible fast here :woohoo:
But I don’t want to upload it in bad quality since you can’t read any numbers then.
I hope that it might help somebody.Since I am no real pilot and have very little experience in real flying: Any feedback/ critics on how to do better is welcome.
Should have brought the wind information to the DED however, but forgot this time since the wind is always the same in the training TE 8-)I found out that in Kunsan, turbulences almost always occur on the coast, depending on altitude/ wind direction. In the training TE, the worst turbulence impacts the final approach and once you get through, it ain’t that bad anymore. So just keep it steady and get through it without getting too low and it’ll be fine (sounds easy, I know).
If it helps somebody, I might upload similar videos- if nobody watches it, I still got the experience of uploading my first video to youtube

I love how after the aircraft stopped he made sure to reset the Master Caution light. That made it all better!

As my coworker used to say: “A caution light that can be reset and will return to off state then is no real fault.”

Disabling drift C/O is part of the landing checklist.

Another quality instructional video on the Be More Stupid forum.

Not crabbing the plane correctly
The F-16 crabs for you thanks to the FLCS and ARI. If any additional crabbing is needed on the pilot’s part then he’s probably exceeding the plane’s safe x-wind landing limit (25kts).
-
Bad landing, bad approximation……everything was BAD …8-)
-
I love it when you hit the master caution light at the end, classic
-
It’s like the check engine light… it annoys me
-
ill have to practice using drift c/o. i’ve always done Flounder’s alternate suggestion, flying the FPM and its worked so far flawlessly.

phait, what a/c are you using? B or D? The sound is so different from what I’m used to hearing on my end - I doubt it’s my speakers on this mobile platform, but still… or maybe it’s because it’s the first video I’ve been able to watch? What a difference connection speed makes - my home speed is so slow I’d still be waiting for the video box picture to come up …
Nice compensation for the wind there, but your aim point was way too far forward. But you knew that already. The white on white lights were clue one. What I don’t understand is why didn’t you roll the thing? Every time I’ve been in that situation I loose more than just the one wheel. Still can’t get over the sound difference. And you didn’t get to spin it on the ground, always a croud pleaser! At least you didn’t have to do a three point landing - oh how fun those are. You want some real fun? Try bailing right before landing - wait a min., that wasn’t in an aircraft. Never mind.

I believe I’m using custom sounds found in this thread https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?14677-Custom-Modded-Folder
It’s probably a D (never heard of a B)
-
B is the 2 seater A. D is the 2 seater C. Thanks for the intel.
