4.33 UI vs 4.33 FPS
-
I was wonder if the same exact graphical setting in Nvidia control panel and in sim should have similar fps result? My 4.33 UI install is not performing as well as the 4.33 version. I was wonder if i should just reinstall or is there something new that might be causing a hit to the performance and stuttering performance.
I tweaked the 4.33 install with 3 screen running in SLI.

4.33.1 has way better performances than 4.33!
-
And you’ve updated your nv profile so it knows the new exe location? If your running sli, would recommend you enable the sli overlay so you know you’re profile is loaded(as a test)

Well not for me rig. looks like i have to tweak away.
How do i uninstall, I dont see any of my BMS installs 4.32, 4.33, and 4.33 1 in my windows uninstaller? I wonder if something got porked?

Not for me either, in the opening screen of moving mud instant action I have 74 fps at 4331 and 94 fps at 433, with same graphic settings.-

Please refer to the BMS Manual for uninstall instructions, though they are the same as they’ve been since at least the 4.32 days.

I have not noticed big changes in the FPS of the new patch, perhaps 1 or 2 FPS more compared with the previous one. My NVIDIA setup is the same each with its .exe properly addressed.

For some ppl, the difference is really significant.

Just run your BMS installation packages as you install it. Then there will be a menu “remove”. Hit the button!

Same problem with huge FPS hit in 4.33.1 Korean Theater. From 36 down to 11-14. I have not set the Nvidia parameters, I’ll try that when I get a chance.

From another thread, might be helpful for you guys showing a hit:
@immelman:I was having bad frame rate drops in Update 1.
To fix it I edited this line in “falcon BMS.cfg”, the default is 0 (max), which seemed to be the cause. By editing this to 2 my frame rates are better than in the original 4.33.set g_nAnisotropicValue 2 // The max anisotropic filter value to use if anisotropic filtering is ON in the setup UI. Valid values: 0 = max available (default), 2, 4, 8, 16
Hopefully this will work for you also.

Thats why i prefer to set the AA, AF etc. in the ATI control center. So i have full control over it.

+1 on performance hit with U1. What’s up with that???
-
Wrong config i guess.

I found 4.33.1 a large improvement with FPS over 4.33. When boresighting Mav’s (Wpn image and TGP image up on MFD’s, using in game extraction) in 4.33 I would drop to 25-30 FPS but with 4.33.1 I only drop to 50-55 FPS.
Also, I thought I would just try the in game graphic settings and it works fine (I use to tweak in nVidia control). With vSync on I hold 61 FPS for 90% of the game, biggest hit I find is when boresighting the Mav’s.

Add me to the list of those who have seen a significant frame rate improvement of 4.33.1 over 4.33 (~15-20fps)
BMS Devs, if these dramatic fps improvement surprise you, I hope you find the commonalities among those of us who see such improvements and capitalize on it! For the first time, I am now using per pixel lighting, full PS effects, and max ansiotropic settings and STILL get +15-20fps improvement. I actually have neighbors who have no interest whatsoever in flight simulators coming over to my home to see Falcon in action because it looks so realistic. Thank you so much!
And by the way, just strictly my own opinion, but 37" HD monitor at 30" away is the sweet spot for amazing immersion.

+1 (minus the neighbors… they don’t give a shit).

Same neighbors as me. Same with almost everyone I know actually.
I also get very noticeable fps increase and MFDE MFD’s work much smoother on client computer.

I have a pretty weak machine, but FPS improvement is clear in my case, too. Strangely, the worst FPS killer in my install was and still is HDR; when I disable the effect I get perfectly flyable 30 FPS. As regards the AA and AF, whether I use the Catalyst Control Center settings or sim UI gfx settings makes very little difference.
