Waypoints are changing - different that planned

So people can roll their eyes, post memes, and do whatever they want about it, but those are the same people who contribute WRONG information to the community. Maybe they like contributing to ignorance and wive’s tales, but I do not.
-Wizard-,
I don’t have anything personal against you, but your first post on this thread was intended to take me down a notch by accusing me of spreading rumors. Not true. I make every effort to help someone when I have the opportunity to do so.
I explained what I had been told in the past, and also explained that I was unsure what the procedure actually does. What I do know, is that doing so keeps me from having the issue the OP was concerned about. If one click would suffice, then that is all you had to say.
There was no reason to vent it out on me, thus the meme.
In light of Demo’s explanation, I am going to continue to double-click. I will probably still advise others to do the same.
Different strokes for different folks.
Cheers!

You are mistaken that my post was meant to take you “down a notch.”
The Falcon UI does not recognize the difference between a single or double-click of the mouse, and people should not continue to tell folks that they have to double click anything to make it work. There are numerous (stupid) things that I’ve listened to people in various Wings/Teamspeak servers tell others what they have to do to make Falcon work properly, and it’s pretty simple to stop. All it takes is for people to stop spreading things around that aren’t true. A prime example is the nonsensical claim that everyone must input the same bandwidth. It’s been directly refuted by the people who wrote the multiplayer code, and yet there are ignorant people out there who still believe they’re right, and the developers are wrong.
Perhaps you know better, perhaps you don’t. Either way, there’s no need for a double-click. If you really want to help people when you can, then I’d presume you also want to give them correct information.

Okay, it’s pretty obvious that this “same bandwidth” issue has you pretty riled up, and I will make sure to spread the word that this is just plain wrong and detrimental to the spirit of the game.
Are there any bugs that I should know about, if I am using the same bandwidth as another and/or all other online players?
Thanks in advance!

Who are you to tell people what they should and what they shouldn’t do or say. It’s quite obvious with the following posts to your original post about double clicking(which by the way drives you NUTZ, LOL, you probably pass out when you’re next to someone who is on the internet and they double click an active link!!! OMG, YOU DON’T have to double click ), that’s there’s absolutely nothing wrong with double clicking, none, nothing……NADDA!! A BMS Admim even piped up and said so, but you continue to go on about it!! WOW
Settle down, I thought the thread Police over at the old FrugalsWorld were overboard, but you’re making them look like Keystone Kops!!
Wow, can’t believe so much muss and fuss over nothing.
If it drives you up a wall, just like the other stuff, and it sounds like it’s a lot, like possibly over a million times, stupid things you have heard other people telling each other, than maybe it’s time you take a break from reading the forums and hanging out with VFW’s and sitting on TS listening to it all. Do yourself and everyone else a favor, take a break please.

Because of this thread, I have changed the way I enter the 3D BMS world.
In our MP flight this evening (yes, I was wearing those nasty old BMS socks and yes I connected flawlessly … so take that!! ) I did NOT double-click the mission frag line and I did NOT double-click my jet. Instead, I single-clicked both the frag line and my jet … twice … in quick succession.
It’s a whole new world, let me tell ya.
Of course, I kid. I just think the ‘Falcon Dance’ is silly and trying to convince people not to do the ‘Falcon Dance’ even sillier.

Guys he didn’t make a big deal out because he just mentioned the same bw for connection issue.
He doesn’t say it’s a bug if u do or problems will exist. He says some guys playing it experts advice other guys as this is a must.I have faced it also.
He just mentioned something. The making it big deal I believe started afterwards with the mentioning on this and thus making it a big deal.Never had this waypoint issue. Heard in the TS guys saying so, but mostly was few and specific occasions, probably guys messing around.
Once I recall we had all (about 20) the same issue but it was caused by fubared mission file.Sent from TapaTalk

Lost in translation, Arty. My apologies to you, but I am going to refrain from explaining it. I’ve made my point and will not discuss it any further.

@Cloud:
Who are you to tell people what they should and what they shouldn’t do or say.
If you want to contribute to the myth - which I have literally heard that “No…no, you have to doubleclick the ATO, once isn’t enough” then you are welcome to do so.
You shouldn’t, because that’s not accurate, but if that’s the kind of advice you’d like to give; I can’t stop you.
You and others have blown a simple remark greatly out of proportion. Please feel free to continue your crusade against accurate information, but I’m out.

…. I’m not sure as to the veracity of AMVI_Hawk’s statements regarding the potential to save an “empty” DTC, as I have not had that experience. If you have a critical target, I’d write down the pertinent information on a piece of paper.
I assure you it happened to me when I saved lines, TGT STP without haveing previously loaded my DTC.
I am not sure if it was strictly related to avoid of load of DTC but since that time I always try to remember to me to follow those steps.
However, maybe, I could have done something wrong out there…… but the procedure I mentioned will not fail and, for sure , paper and pen are always on my charts.Tail widd and clear sky
Kind regards

Hi,
I have already met this kind of issue: you have to clear all target steerpoints …sometimes, target steerpoints are kept from the previous mission and the order of waypoint changes once the DTC is loaded in rampstart.
so now, we are used to check the DTC before save in 2D GUI

Hi all,
I played around a bit and what sukhoi69 suggested did the trick. It’s not about clicking flights (or even double clicking ) - I found out that DTC contained old targets and that messed my flight plan. Reset targets, setting new target in recon and saving DTC was enough to get rid of problems.
Thanks a lot to all who helped!

I also found very useful to reset “variable” parts of the DTC from WDP before setting it again… never missed a shot when issues arised!
-
Hi there, same issue! I have tried from WDP, but it doen’t work.
Do you reset from 2D DTC in BMS Sim, is it right? -
A click on everywhere on the map, “recon” and “clear all” should make the trick.
-
sounds like a UI update/refresh over MP issue for some been a while since I looked at that part off the code will have a look and see
-
I have this issue as well, or very similar.
Everything works perfect when I start out. Then, after swapping to AA or AG modes my steerpoints are never the same again. Extremely confusing, especially for a new guy like trying to learn lol. Over time I’ve learned to use the HSD in combination with ATC/AWACS ETC… to move around. As well, even when the steerpoints are messed up on the HUD, cycling through them while the FCR is SOI will still correctly target the appropriate steer as POI on the FCR.
If you guys need any info on this or if there is anythign I can do to help pinpoint the issue for you please let me know.

ok so if given the choice which sounds more correct
1, only effects clients
2, effects both host and clients
3, other (please specify)
