And C.14? It has second place in first post. Have you forgotten?
Not forgotten at all.
It should be just after ASTRAC or before…
Please understand, CT and EQ have very similar avionics, so it’s almost only a paint job… Except the tail to modify. So, it’s,not a major variant like C.14, ASTRAC or CT. Please also note, our very two major versions are French Mirage F-1 CT and Morrocan Mirage F-1 EM-VI (ASTRAC)

Hello everybody
Let me give you some updates about the project, the 3D model is almost done, some minor details (like pitot tubes) still to add but nothing more significant. Once finished i will start the cockpit ASAP !
Some Eye candy :
Cheers, Gudule

Is gorgeous!! Can’t wait to see the 3d model finished and skinned!! Will you create and share the template?

Hello,
You are right, JASDF uses ASTAC pods on their RF-4J but also on their RF-4EJ And their EF-4EJ.
What you shows is a RF-4EJ “Kai” from 501st Hikotai of Hyakuri.
Thank you so much for your pictures!
Radium
JASDF is operating RF-4E and RF-4EJ as tactical reconnaissance aircraft in 501sq.
RF-4E is dedicated for tactical reconnaissance use, so it doesn’t carry missile or munition.
RF-4EJ was modified from F-4EJ(japanese version of F-4E), and it have FCR and capability to operate M61 20mm cannon and AIM-9L/AAM-3.RF-4EJ carrys three reconnaissance pod,
-
LOROP pod
It contains a long range, diagonally downwards optical camera. -
TAC pod
It contains two optical camera(low and high altitude), and an IR camera. -
TACER pod
It contains electronic intelligence equipment.
Our MoD bought this pod(we call ASTAC pod this name) from Thales, france.
RF-4E doesn’t carry these pod.
Optical camera pods are pretty much old, and the capability is not today’s standard…(it can not send image data to ground station by data link)You can see more information about of JASDF RF-4E/EJ equipments on the following website. (sry about japanese language only)
http://aobtrg.net/html/recon_equipment.htmlFollowing images were taken by me in 2010 Hyakuri Air Base Festival.
I remember there was no explanation about LOROP pod in this year. And I’m sorry about the post which is not related to this thread.
Thank you for many updates, gudule! -

WOW looking forward to reproduce this:
and cause u’ll ask… this is the first Turkish F-16 that violated Greece’s airspace right after they received them… The HUD pic is from the Greek F-1 that intercepted it.

Hello!
This is a Mirage F-1C series CTH.
Here, a F-1CG.
Not sure how to make it…
Cheers,

And I’m sorry about the post which is not related to this thread.
I think it provided some very good info about unknown details to many of us… Thanks!

Excellent… BTW, I think the dash one should be somewhere out there too, just for reference…
Not sure how to make it…
HAF Mirage F-1’s were not modified externally or internally, so any simple France C version of that period would be ok with just the blue paintscheme.

I was talking about avionics thing, not graphical aspect… For now, Mirage F1C cockpit is very far away… Mirage F1CT, C.14’s HUDs are Mirage 2000 like, ASTRAC is F-16 like, please remember it.

Guys, can the CT or C.14 carry any kind of targetting pod?

Guys, can the CT or C.14 carry any kind of targetting pod?
The CT cannot, it does not have any compatible visualization in the cockpit. It can act as a bomb truck, though.

Is the same true for the C.14? The ASTRAC has updated cockpit with new MFD, but they can carry any kind of targetting pod?

Hi there,
Could you help me ? I need some information abouts the pit specs in BMS, how many tris can contain a cockpit 3D model at maximum ?
And how many tris contain the F16 cockpit 3D model ?Thank you, gudule
-
F-16 pit is around 30 000, IIRC… but its the F-16
Others, i dont know.
I’d say, aim for half of this, but an official answer would be appreciated

How should be calculated the pit polycount? Because the pit in Falcon is built up from more than one LOD.
Here you can see the parent number of F-16C Block 52 pit.
cockpitmodel 1; - 33k poly (?) is shown be LOD Editor
cockpitmodel2 2; - 4.4k
cockpitmodel3 3; - 38k
cockpithudmodel 4; - 24
cockpitcanopymodel 5; - 24
cockpitrttcanopymodel 6; -3.8k
cockpitwingsmodel 1196; -938
cockpitwingsdfmodel 1196;
cockpitmodel_empty 3118; - 153
cockpitcanopymodel_empty 3119; - 3.6k -

Why half of this l3crusader ? The 2/3 would be perfect !!
