BMS Family Feud time!

Operating an airplane is most of the time done on memory, checklists are an important reference and are mendatory
-
Doing it from memory.
First thing I learned before any time in the air.
- āhow do I turn this thing on from scratch?ā
-
Do it from memory but I have to admit, Iāll have to overhaul my memory on next version, too.
-
learned it and within maybe 10 starts i can do the whole thing from memory, tests included.

If Iām current & comfortable, from memory, then a quick glance at the checklist to ensure all that Iāve done is per checklist.
If Iām not current, checklist all the way.
-
As my āmemoryā most times eludes me these days, I keep the checklist handy at all times
Though in RL checklists are mandatory before you even approach the aircraft, unless your flying a Red jetā¦ā¦LOL!!!demer

Memory. Love the three sweep process.
-
a german combat pilot told me, in their squad they were free to chose between two ways:
- read-and-do the c/l
- by heart, thereafter verify with c/l
personally, when simming, i do it by heart. using sweeps, it is easy to build a routine and be very quick. after some time, you start to notice, if a switch is not where it is supposed to be anyway.
(most of the time :))cheers,

Whatās this supposed to mean?
-
Since I once forgot a major one on a Lowland Tigermeet mission (air source to Norm) where I lost the jet, I always use a checklist.
-
sounds like itās gonna make a difference in the future. I welcome this very much!

Whatās a Ramp Start ? Cant find it on the check list.

Maybe they mispelled ?

You should spoiler that, or someone should mark this thread NSFW.

Of all those who do ramp starts, how many do the system tests which are unnecessary?
-
on rampstart always by heartā¦ but i verify everything at least once before take offā¦
all system checks as per red dogās checklist by heart even the unnessesary onesā¦ you never know if they will operate in a future versionā¦ -
I do all the āunneccessary checksā which never fail. Even air refueling checks are done, even if for that flight Iām not going to air refuel.
I would even do the O2 checks, but the switches donāt work other than the OXY BIT. -
I tend to just do the quick version of a ramp start. I donāt really get much time to play anymore so i usually end up going straight to runway, but hopefully in the next few weeks life will slow down a bit and Iāll have more time to get back into it.
