IRL, a rearm can take quite long depending on the loadout (30mins to 2 hours). Even if it was implemented, better off leaving 3d then reentering to go in another flight.

There are many aspects to BMS that would ordinarily take a very long time, but is quickly employed. Such as taxi and take off. There is no “hold” point for aircraft arming for example. So, this kind of thing would be modeled to a compressed time for playability. Same would be done for “hot pit”. You would taxi to the hot pit area and “hold” while fuel trucks pump fuel into your jet. It should be fairly fast (a few minutes at most). As for hot pit re-arming, Navy jets can do this on carriers but only in times of war (under certain conditions) and certain precautions must be enforced. Fueling and arming are done in separate areas for obvious reasons. Jets are also widely spaced during a hot re-arm (I think it was 500ft. + but not sure). Refuel would be easy enough to do IMHO. Don’t know Airforce hot arm procedures. Not even sure they can be “hot” armed. Would be interesting to see if it could be done.

Viggen re-arm in Swedish airforce took 10 (A2A loadaout) to 20 minutes (A2G loadout).

Is that a “hot” re-arm?

Yea pretty much. When I meant “hot-pit rearm,” I was thinking more of the Air-Air munition rearming from a loading station kinda deal(knowing how long it would take for air to ground). I also understand that it would take a while for it to actually rearm, but as said from jhook, some things in BMS is faster.

Well, from the Navy’s perspective, “hot” re-arms are not advised. Even during war time, they would not “hot” re-arm unless something really bad needed to be taken out, and taken out fast! Mostly, there would be “ready 5” aircraft with AA and AG loadouts at the ready. So, this is usually not done.

Hoyahhh then.

Anti-Aliased or smoothed MFD & HUD displays. MFDs are pretty hard to read when you’re using a large FOV because of how blocky the text and lines get. Mip-mapping the displays would also be useful; the shimmering that results from the full MFD resolution being minified is rather distracting.
Trees being properly alpha tested in in BHOT/WHOT TGP views. Currently trees only look proper in CCD mode, in the IR modes they’re rectangular planes.

This raises an interesting point. How many of the features that populate this thread relate to ‘peace-time’ operations vs ‘war-time’ operations?
I wonder if some of the headache we ask of the developers would be totally irrelevant in our campaigns, since we are at war…?

Even in war times, “hot” re-arms are generally not done. That doesn’t mean they do not do them. The airforce “hot” arm procedures would be interesting to learn about (if they even do them). “Hot” pit re-fuel is another matter. “Hot” pit re-fueling is done all the time (war time or not). So, “hot” pit re-fueling would be a good thing to add IMO.

One more time …
Hot pit rearm = No No.
Hot pit refuel = already implemented.End.

Can we get hot-pit rearming please?

Already implemented. You press Esc, then E. wait a little, and a menu comes up. There, add a new package and a new flight to assign your jet to.
Click takeoff - Taxi. Turn around, look at your aircraft tail, check that the serial number is the same.
Hot pit refuelling, and a snazzy (main) menu to do it from!

Bad idea on MP. Better to always restart the sim after leaving 3D once.

Yeah, but that would have been too complex to clearly convey in a short.
Preaching to the choir in this case

Well, not like Malc wasn’t a bit tongue in cheek in the first place…
