************************ ** ** ** OPEN SKINS F-15A/C ** ** For Falcon 4.0 ** ** ** ************************ ***Basic F-15A/C Template*** This template is designed for Falcon 4 + OpenFalcon 4.x or higher, that contain OpenFalcon's F-15C model, created by Mike "Vermin" Rivers. It is constructed from scratch, since you can't extract the Wireframes from the OpenFalcon's F-15 model using LodEditor. But it still contains the gear texture, the geardoors inside texture, and the alpha channel, created by Daniel 'Zaggy'Bell, who painted the OpenFalcon originally F-15C model very nicely. Also beside other reference material, freely available on the web, I used Daniel 'Zaggy' Bell's F-15C skin for reference. These files are availible to all, and are open to any modification that the end user sees fit, with the exception of ANY COMMERCIAL or FOR PROFIT uses. You do not even have to give credit to the skin/template original authors (Zaggy and me :), but it would be nice if you did. Skins created from these base skins may be distributed in ANY Falcon 4.0 patch or mod, again with the exception of COMMERCIAL and FOR PROFIT uses, be it a Theater package, skin package, data patch or whatever. You're free to copy these files on to your own website for further distribution, post them on Forums or electronically exchange them in anyway. The PSD files for this skin and more (Other aircraft, forums, how-to's, etc) are hopefully available soon at ************************************ * * * www.green-flight.co.uk/openskins * * * ************************************ ***Installation*** Required patch level: Falcon 4 + OpenFalcon 4.x or higher. Firstly BACKUP the F-15C skins from your \MicroProse\Falcon4\terrdata\objects\KoreaObj folder (these will be the files with the SAME filename as the .dds files in this zip). Simply drap and drop the .dds files from this zip archive into your \MicroProse\Falcon4\terrdata\objects\KoreaObj folder. Start Falcon 4.0., fly the F-15C. To create *.dds files out of *.psd files in Photoshop yourself, you will need to install the "NVIDIA Plug-ins for Adobe Photoshop" http://developer.nvidia.com/object/photoshop_dds_plugins.html With this installed, flatten the 4007.psd (for example) to background, make sure you have only one alpha channel, and save this as 4007.dds using DXT1 (1 bit alpha), ... no mipmaps. ***Credis*** Mike "vermin" Rivers --- F-15 model Daniel 'Zaggy'Bell --- Originally F-15 skins Scott "Banger" Young --- Originally F-15E template (AFAIK) More credits goes out to several recources on the web for their puplic available reference material, such as blueprints, decals, paintschemes and real pics. Hobbydecal http://www.hobbydecal.com/ Afterburner Decals http://www.afterburnerdecals.com/ The-Bleuprints.com http://www.the-blueprints.com/ New ARC Air Forums http://www.arcforums.com/forums/ Military Aircraft http://www.fas.org/siteindx.html Hyperscale http://www.hyperscale.com/ F-15estrikeeagle http://www.f-15estrikeeagle.com/ Aircraft Resource Center http://f15gb.seyahmit.com/index.html Don Color http://www.jpsmodell.de/ wikipedia http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Hauptseite History in Illustration http://www.cbrnp.com/decals/index.html Patrics Aviation http://www.patricksaviation.com/photos/tags/ Photobucket http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v26/ishthe47guy/ ***Final words*** This template is not perfect and could still be improved, but it should give you a start for painting your own skin. I knew, skinning an Aircraft is not an easy job, but the effort/ spare time needed to do a skin/ template like this is not to be looked at lightly. ... So a big Thank's goes to all those skinners out there, who ever did a skin for our favorite sim for free. If you have any doubts or questions or requests, please email me at [email protected] Alternatively i can often be found on the BenchMarkSims forums (https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum). It's also recommended for you to vist this site frequently, to see what skins are already done or WIP (work in progress), so you are able to avoid double work. I hope you'll enjoy. Hey Harald,
… long time no see.:) I hope you are fine.
Nice job on the BMS skins, Thank’s.
… and BTW. did you know that the F-15 AGRS skins in BMS have a part at the tail magenta colored?
(maybe due to some conversion process???) … so a fix would be nice, IMHO.Cheers,

Hello demer,
No the D-version is a skin originally done by Zaggy who did a tremendous job on the mrivers model!!
All I, RedDog, Lazy and others did on the different versions is based upon his basic work.
If you talk about the Japanese Aggressors shown above - that is RedDogs work - looks really cool!Cheers

HaraldThank’s M8,
Yeah,I need both a JASDF Aggrs and a JASDF Normal skin for the 15D in Cope North 2012 scenario for the Guam Theater. The current 15DJ model is,shall I say…just not up to snuff…good effort though.
Any help is appreciated.

LSLOL……I used your PSD’s for the DDS’s……it fit’s them all I think.At least that’s what I think I saw in LODEdit.My eye’s are’nt what they used to be…'Cept the D Model has 17 Bad Node’s in my tool.But I think my Tool is Bigger than your tool…
Cheer’s,

Cheer’s,
demerI’ve never compared the C to the D or even looked closer at the D texture, but if you say it fits…
Anyway, I dunno what Harald talked to you on PM, but AFAIK and IIRC the D- template was done by good old lad “Banger”.
(… could be wrong though)I also never checked the D model for bad nodes, but noone except Mike himself could correct them and
if the intake is’nt still animated in BMS (did’nt looked at it yet) then the model is’nt fully finished anyway.Oh, and your tool might be bigger than my tool,
BUT mine is making more mph and your wife liked it.… runs and hides…

good stuff, Dave!!
