I’ve never compared the C to the D or even looked closer at the D texture, but if you say it fits…
Anyway, I dunno what Harald talked to you on PM, but AFAIK and IIRC the D- template was done by good old lad “Banger”.
(… could be wrong though)I also never checked the D model for bad nodes, but noone except Mike himself could correct them and
if the intake is’nt still animated in BMS (did’nt looked at it yet) then the model is’nt fully finished anyway.Oh, and your tool might be bigger than my tool,
BUT mine is making more mph and your wife liked it.… runs and hides…

Not really,just a good direct for this.Anyway,the PSD’s work for the D from what I can see and no I’m not going to chase down the Bad Node’s and fix ‘em.The Model is flying well in game,that is all we need.You know I don’t personally care if every F**k’n Turkey Feather on an exhaust is DOF’d.Sometime’s we spend too much time OTW and not enuff’ in the pit.
The reason in Guam for the different skin’s,is that ALOT of the Campain’ happen’s WVR.So you really need to Visually ID your target B4 a Shoot. I think you have already found that out in Guam.

The C and D skins work vice and versa as far as I could check.
I started with a light grey C skin and moved to the japanese aggressors D skins.The 3D model for the F-15DJ is a shame currently, but it has been updated and should normally be as the F15D in the next BMS update.
Let’s say the skins I made are were the incentive to update the model and use the F15D model for the DJ
Both the skins I posted should also be in the next update. -

The D version is very sexy. I love it. I have a new skin for this beauty but is not finish yet.

Please make sure to include Zaggy’s originally Alpha channels, and save as DXT1 / 1-bit Alpha, with mipmaps.Even in the BMS 4.3.2 release are some Alpha channels of the C-, D- and E- version missing.
To get the correct Alpha channels, use those from OF or from my template.

You were working from the DDS’s? Shit, why didn’t someone email me? I would have gotten the fully-full-on 100Mb PSD archive to you (somehow), so you had easier access to all layers!

‘Great’ maybe going a bit TOO far, but yeah waves
I’m the guy who started OpenSkins (I hope all the released Templates are still out there somewhere) - and the guy who (in frustration) told Hustler I wanted his wee-wee in my poo-poo (on my own site BTW) and got banned by whatever those guys were called (hahahahaa) - and the guy who got together with Bluey and fixed the elevations for the Korea AO and then wrote some funky Geo-Spatial Interpolation algorithms that created the first 250m Korea AO terrain - I think I did some interfaces for the UI MANY a moon ago too.
For those who remember me, a lot has happened since then - FO was a bust AFAIC; I had 6 vertebrae crushed and my shoulder mashed (that sucked; in fact it still sucks every day, hahaha); had a crazy Fiancee change her mind overnight then stalk me for 2 years, went back to school (got two Dips (with Distinction - Software Dev and Web Eng), got a degree in Computer Science (with Distinction) and am now doing some Tutoring/Demonstrating/Research (in using Evolutionary Algorithms (either Genetic Algs or Memetic Algs) to Pathfind and Navigate complex, low level environments for UAV’s or Autonomous Systems in real time - eventually I want to expand it to include contested airspace and ‘pro-stealth’ active and reactive pathfinding…. But thats a long away away and I have no idea if I am that smart! hahaha)…
Also been working on a Late WW2 Luftwaffe Nachtjagd project, on Photo Interpretation and Developing Profiles, in my spare time.

If I can sort out some webspace or whatever, sure… As I said somewhere the original PSD’s in archive are about 100Mb for each the F-15C and again for the F-15E. I will try and find the same font version of Amarillo I used too (as the version I currently have installed seems to not be the same as that in the PSD’s, therefore the Numerals aren’t Raster Editable).
I had a quick look around the network here and can’t find much more than the Eagles - I guess the Falcons and etc are on another external HDD no longer plugged in anywhere; are the F-16 templates still out there and being used by people? I seem to remember doing some weathering updates on those that were never pushed to the primary templates.

Hehe sounds like a hell of a ride you had through those years
Your mentioning of the fight with Hustler threw me 8-9 years back when I was a “green” b-tester in FF forums… since then I became part of Red-Viper (RV) team which developed the EXE for FF for sometime (it’s a long story to tell all now), we managed to (of course :mrgreen:) fight with Hustler as well and we broke up from FF and finally found a home here in BMS at ~2009
Bluey is still around, if you hadn’t talked to him yet. Today we have terrain with only 1000m resolution but that’s mainly because of GFX improvements which gave-up the old LOD style of the “popping” terrain and now renders the terrain same from any visual range. Unfortunately 250m resolution cause too much hit and unplayable without the old LOD levels. The sim needs a new terrain engine for sure, but for now that’s where we are.

Yeah I got a message on here from Bluey yesterday - was good to hear from him (shot him my Facebook details). As for Hustler, I never fought with him at all I’d do something pro-active (like start OpenSkins, which helped get more people into skinning) - he’d have a cry about something; I started working with correcting the Korea AO elevations - he said it wouldn’t work and wreck model placement; I started working geo-interpolating the terrain to 250m - he said it would wreck ‘EVERYTHING’ like Airbases and etc (Bluey and I proved those wrong).
I kind of felt sorry for him after a while, being so negative on everything EXCEPT what he ‘thought up’ or could control - that was the cool thing for me back in the day; people would just come up with some great idea’s or make awesome discoveries in the capability of the code (for me, my ‘big one’ was the 250m res capability, that had been hiding there for years! Who’d have thought it! ). You know, you be away for a week, come back and Sphynxy had made some awesome airbase advance or MR would be working on a new model, or someone had made a new 3D pit that was frikken awesome!
Thats the beautiful thing about F4 - the many branches of development that spread out or grow in parallel or reintegrate and sometimes end - though when they end there is normally something growing to replace it (like terrain currently ). But thats off topic…
Yeah, its been a ride alright - life can be interesting at times… Oh and I hear Hrenner still had the original F-15 skins I did too… BUT as previous, when things calm down after the first two-three weeks of semester, I’ll sort some hosting out for all get there hands on the original Templates too; then people can mix and match, compare styles (you learn SOOOO much as a graphic artist, by examining how two different people have gone about the same task) and generally play around!
