F.L.A.R.E. Revived

I remember seeing that shot. Wasn’t sure at the time if it was real. At least we now know BMS is real and is improving.
-
-
Hummmm…
Kind of autogen, Self casted shadow, Sun glare, smaller UI fonts…
Pilot: Amraam
CheersThis is a 4.32 shot
(no offense Max )I swear, what’s the point of releasing a 4.33 when people dont exploit 4.32 fully
-
Too much FLARE?
-
(no offense Max )No offense taken
In fact, I do agree on the fact that we don’t exploit the sim fully but some eye candy sometimes make you dream of better world… ok too much rhum :drink: -

@Aragorn: Hi you!
This is it! I think that I was able to understand a little bit of your post Ara! (however I am not 100% sure! …)
NOTHING Falcon-related is “future-proof”. Especially not without community. Do you want a virtual graveyard tour…?
Especially those of us who HAVE - as you say - lived all versions of F4 (and F3 before that) should realise the folly of over-confidence when it comes to “future-proof”.
Maybe I am wrong … but I rather see Flacon4 like a phoenix. Could die one day once for all, but I really do not think it is for after tomorrow. (not talking about myself here … I am THE accident. ;))
And the day Falcon4 will be about to die forever, I bet it will be because Windows20 and/or future graphic cards will no longer be able to display a soooo low resolution 1024*800 UI.The community “grows”, yes. But - in what direction and what of the “old-heads” with the real knowledge and experience from which much can be drawn.
Let’s hope they are seen as assets and resources and not childishly as “threats” and “grudges”. Only then can a ROUNDED community be built.Well … I think that current BMS developers/managers are sailing their ship in an efficient way and (until now) chosen some valuable and knowledgeably guys. (I am not talking about myself here … I am THE only accident. ;))
At least … I can tell you that from my POV, they are working quite good, some very valuable guys has been hired recently and, for the moment, the results are not so bad.Above all : THE MOST important point (according to me), is the good health of the team. Not a single trouble makers inside which is making the ambiance of work very more the excellent, very brotherly and it is a real pleasure and a great honor to be able to live among them.
IMO this is the really the “strongest point” of the team making me quite confident in BMS (Falcon4) future.
…
And, if one day, the wind change … if the team collapse … well … Falcon4 would had the longest live in the combat flight simulation’s history and will die a natural death.
Nothing is eternal … not even a Phoenix.

F. MercuryBut hell… I don’t have much experience in Falcon Development…
Regards,
The Gorn.
I am probably missing something. In a PM you’ve sent me two or three months ago, you told me that you are “one of the most prolific Falcon4 developers of the Falcon history” (your words) …!?
Or I just do not understand some kind of joke. (?)Regards,
Dee-Jay (Also known as The Wanker.)

Or I just do not understand some kind of joke. (?)At the risk of getting Aragorn banned again, I would say his words portray a bit of sarcasm.
-
I would say that (IMO) PumpyHead’s words portray a minor level of understatement.
-
very minor

A whiff of Frugs …
Edit: maybe i should check my dead-horse-pictures-morgue …

Or I just do not understand some kind of joke. (?)Once upon a time, where Jurassic ages were still to come, Ara was not only the best An-2 developer in the entire galaxy, but also, and more important than any other aspects, he was the guy that make all the team a team…
You logged in to join the dev forum, even on bad days, because he was there, with his sarcasm and all his post you entirely failed to understood…
Quite every day, Ara made my day a good day…
In Memoriam, FF ! -
@DeeJay - Yes to everything you said. “Yes” - in this case - also swerving into the territory of “general agreement”.
Except the part about me being “one of the most prolific Falcon4 developers of the Falcon history”.
You know that I was in a bit of a mood when I sent that. That sentence needs correction.
I did not mean to type “one of”.
Interestingly - evidence of my collegial collaboration with (and spirited defence of) gasp the earliest iteration of BMS is still on my HD.
Bet not many remember that…? But -that was before you were born…And before 1600 pages of Falcon Manuals. (And the one which I wrote for Falcon Gold OIR.)
And the myriad of 'pits. And the release of FF4.0. Steve - bless his heart - was late to that party, and arrived with a hammer…
(That hammer serving to fill out your Team). No, I’ll share that release with Rex and the guy I brought into my Data-Team: Ranger822.Ahhhh…. The First Casualty of War is the Manual.
@Wanker Reference <– Hee hee… You may be surprised to know that was NOT - in fact - referring to YOU.
To whom it WAS referring would not - however - probably surprise you…Je suis Aragorn. Let’s not allow sarcasm or humour to enlighten, challenge or promote critical thought…!
Onward and upward the Phoenix; fan the flames of Falcon to burn in your glorious bosom; your heart be hearth. And - I hate Pumpyhead’s guts.
Ara’

Thank you, Jean-marie.
What a beautiful person you are.
Clayton.

Ah hell, the good old days of the beta Squad. Miss it.
I think the best day in my FF experience was when RP send me beta bum and us bums the first version of the F-16A cockpit. That and flying FF 4 on ODS with Aeyes F-16MLU pit the first time.
-
you remember
-
I did not mean to type “one of”.
Ara’My bad Ara! Sorry!
I hate Pumpyhead’s guts.
Now, I know.
…
Well … Now I have to study the other parts (the non quoted here) of your post … will call you back in 2 weeks.
-
My bad Ara! Sorry!
Hee hee…!! (You understood that, yes…?)
…will call you back in 2 weeks.
The PM I was just sending you would have taken 2 ~ 3 months*…! (*Reference to an unfunny joke. c.f. C3PO)
I just stopped writing it. I will need to edit it; try to make it shorter.
Will send again this week.Would probably be quicker for me to learn French.
ou peut-être pas …
