I have a XP version and a Windows 8 on the same computer. I regret to have installed the Windows 8.
I personally do not recommend this system to anybody, in my opinion is horrible.
I am seriously thinking to move to “GNU” system and if Falcon and other windows program work with the “WineHQ.org” application for “GNU” OS I will definetely move away from Mr. B.G. !

I did some experiments recently with wine 1.6 and am quite happy to report that the TE editor works great so I can finally start developing TEs on Linux. Entering the 3d world doesn’t work though (to be expected as I think some hacks are necessary here for BMS), and then there’s the question of how to get the cougar and my T500RS pedals to work in the sim.
What also works nicely is hosting a dedicated IVC server on Linux so if you have a linux box available somewhere you can free up some much needed bandwith for your multiplayer TEs and campaigns (that running a campaign online requires a 3d capable server is an entirely different story though).

I’ll second the 8.1 for BMS.

Installed Win 10 and BMS seems to run on it.

Windows 10. I’ve had fewer problems using BMS on Windows 10 than any other version of Windows (7, 8, 8.1).

Recently made the big plunge to 8.1 X64. After a steep learning curve like it a lot and will stay there for the foreseeable future. BTW, all my simulation software starting with BMS to a 60GB FS2004 install works amazingly well in 8.1

arch Linux 64bits. And for some rare games that aren’t already ported Win 7 Ultimate 64bit
