Removing EA-6 from Campaign
-
Hello,
Is it possible to remove the EA-6 from the Rolling Fire Campaign? I removed the EA-6 squadron with Mission Commander but the EA-6 keeps generating missions out of Fukuoka Airbase. I also tried changing the aircraft type but the EA-6 just wont go away.
Same problem with F-18’s flying out of Fukuoka airbase; can’t remove them with MC.
Thank you

Stupid questions, “which .cam file did you edit?”
TIGER SPIRIT = save0.cam
ROLLING FIRE = save1.cam
IRON FORTRESS = save2.cam
DOUBLE DRAGON= save3.cam
BEAR TRAP = save4.cam
MANTIS AT DAWN = save5.cam -
Best question probably.
If I may, why do you want to remove them?

IRON FORTRESS = save2.cam
DOUBLE DRAGON= save3.cam
BEAR TRAP = save4.cam
MANTIS AT DAWN = save5.camI started a rolling fire campaign, renamed it, then edited that one. It must be the right one because other changes I make (changing F-16 type) are properly reflected. Do you have to edit the save1.cam directly?

Because the EA6 is retired IRL.

Because the EA6 is retired IRL.
In what year does Rolling Fire take place, supposedly?
Rolling Fire certainly doesn’t take place in 2015. Now, if you want to retire it anyway, you don’t really need a reason, but you’ also need to retire a lot of other stuff I guess if that’s a matter of realism… and add a awful lot of other stuff.

No, editing the one you saved/renamed is correct.

Why? You build campaigns yourself, whether they be TOTALLY realistic or otherwise is a matter of opinion. Can’t other’s do as they wish, like you?

On the opposite, I suggest another read.
If the reason for retiring the Prowler is realism, then maybe the OP doesn’t realize the campaign takes place way before it was retired and will want to keep it. Or will want a campaign past the Prowler’s retirement, but it’s almost impossible if realism is his real interest. The campaign taking place way before, it’s probably why the Prowler is in there I suppose. Some well-informed people already thought about that.
If there is another reason than realism for retiring it (as opposed to what OP has posted) , it’s totally fine by me.
But what’s fine by me has never been the topic, has it? Let’s not ruin the topic.

Just FYI - the last USMC Prowlers were retired in March this year only.
They were still flying combat sorties in 2018.

Yep mate, the article I posted said a ceremony was held the 8th of March, in the last operational squadron.

MANTIS AT DAWN = save5.camDo note that the order of the campaign saveX.cam files have been changed in 4.34
Save0.cam and Save1.cam have been swapped.
The first button in the UI is now Save0, the second Save1, the third Save2 etc.
This was not the case with previous versions.Gr Falcas

To me one issue can be the balance. For red side it would be desirable a similar aircraft. For ex. Su-24MP.
If the SOJ modeling is similar to BMS4.33 and other F4 versions the SOJ has very, very powerful effect on SAM range and even without generating and EW fingerprint.
