What’s the difference between the old 40/42 hud and this one? I’m sorry, but I don’t usually use the 40/42, mostly just the 52.

Heads up - just a quick note for Eyefinity or Surround users running three monitors.
The cockpit side views FOV for this mod have not been updated, it’s still set to 50.0 so you won’t be able to see the side panels. You’ll have to update the FOV manually, as we used to do.
Once the mod is installed, go to */Data/Art/ckptart/ and go to all the Block 40/42’s, open the 3dckpit.dat (I use Notepad++), find viewlimit_pitch_down and set it to 75.0.

And you also see that in fact blk 40/42 HUD frame is differently to blk 50/52 HUD frame.

Harpoon, can you intagrate your pit into my MOD? I wish offer this nice upgrade, especially because in my MOD in late '80s and early '90s the main F-16 variant is Block. 40/42

Correct, there was “just” one cockpit (HUD) model for all blocks.
Now you can additionally get the modified Blk 40/42 HUD.

its a neat HUD and all, it just seems like its missing something…

You can do it if you know LE.
You need to open it’s model DB, make 5 new parents: 3120, 3121, 3122, 3123 and 3124, write all settings just like the standard parents, then add 5 new LODs, the ones within the manual installation archive, apply those lods to the parent records mentioned above and then add 4 new textures to DB (also from the archive).
After that it’s good to go.Someone knows how to create new parents with LE?
