the problem is that it is very hard to write about such dynamic scenarios.
IMHO the best to learn all this is to fly with other guys and learn that way, through lectures and step by step flying. Mastering one aspect after another -

We strive to simulate real world USAF F-16 operations to the maximum extent possible including a full B Course/A Course, real world Continuation Training, Specialized Training, Ready Aircrew Program, plus a pretty full-up replica of the real world Aviation Resource Management System (ARMS) that provides all of the flight planning tools you need and tracks all of the real world currency requirements for each pilot in the wing. We also have 2 real world F-16 pilots on our roster, one flying Block 50s out of South Carolina and another flying Block 40s out of Aviano (who was previously a pilot in the 80th FS out of Kunsan) that have helped us get our operations accurate down to the smallest details.
The selection board for the next B Course class, 17-BBK, will likely be opening up sometime in March/April so if you (or anyone else for that matter) are up for the challenge, drop by the 8th and post an intro on the forums!

Not convinced this is a smart thing to do, so my apologies if it is not, but I just have to ask after Markpoint’s “little adventure” (to put it mildly) in our squadron: is this another attempt at getting access to virtual squadrons’ SOPs and TOPs without putting in an effort, and then leave them once you have (or realize you won’t get) what you were after?

To answer your question: No, this isn’t “another attempt” to get access to others their documents…
It’s not my intention to join a group, steal their documents or wanting to steal their stuff and just leave.
I want to learn about the real stuff and make friends with the same passion. But if I don’t feel comfortable with the people over there or if I see that it just doesn’t go that well with the others(which gets more and more clear with the time), than I see myself as a element that is too much over there and than I leave, so they are not irritated with my presence anymore.Unfortunately for me, some problems(Which I do not wish to write here because this is public) make it difficult to do this (it is absolutely not that I’m doing not any effort, or else I wouldn’t know how to operate the F-16 if I didn’t do anything. You and others even said that I was doing too much and had to take it easy because I was new) and I don’t want to waste people’s time and effort, which they could put in somebody else that is more capable.

Well, it looks really amazing what you do, even the fact that you have actual F-16 pilots in your squadron makes it more awesomeWell, for now, I don’t have the necessary equipment to fly. My Thrustmaster cougar is totally worn out(because of the infamous play) and I don’t have a stick right now. I’m planning to buy a new computer and stick which is, unfortunately, for very very later.
So I guess I’ll stop by when I have everything

I’m not starting this to start fights with people or whatever, I just hoped that some people could help me out.First of all, I know you possess an enormous amount of knowledge, and with that in mind, I still believe you could be a great virtual pilot one day, but only if you change your attitude towards training. Something we told you almost every day during your stay with us, by the way. Because you mentioned you don’t think you’re suited for squadrons, we believe that hasn’t changed.
So am I having fun making these posts? No, most definitely not. I read your topic not long after you made it, but before making my initial reply, I hesitated and discussed with some of our guys for a few hours if we should or shouldn’t reply, which I hope is clear from the first part of my previous post. In the end, we decided we should, because we know other squadrons also spend a lot of time and effort to set up their procedures, accompanying documents and training, and they deserve a heads-up about someone who might not share their dedication. Now it’s you, tomorrow it may be someone else and we’ll do the exact same thing, so please know it’s not personal.
To clarify the above, and what I meant with not making an effort:
In your first weeks in our squadron, you countered so much of what we told you because it conflicted with what you already (thought you) knew, that we had a feeling you didn’t want to learn our way of flying. (because almost every squadron - real or virtual - does things differently)
We wanted you to learn how to operate as a wingman, you ‘already knew how to fly’ and wanted to skip that bit to start shooting stuff. In an attempt to help you understand why we did something a certain way, you asked for and we happily provided you our SOP.At that point, two things happened:
- Instead of studying, you started making all kinds of “improvements that suit me better” [sic] and kept headstrong in wanting to blow stuff up. Especially since you have always known our documents and training are created with direct professional input, but still chose to leave instead of adapt after we declined your proposals, it makes us wonder how you can now claim you want to go for full realism…
- You like a discussion, which can be a good thing, but in doing so, we noticed our SOP mustn’t have been such a bad thing after all, since you shared its content, sometimes claiming it was real BAF SOP (which it isn’t), with whoever wanted to read it. Oddly enough, you had no problem using parts to publicly support your statement, while you told us we had to change it ASAP.
Once again, I’m not sure if this reply is a smart move (EDIT: though it took me almost 2 hours to create), but the above is why we believe you are mainly after the document, and not the knowledge or squadron experience, and we had a “responsibility to step up” (can’t think of another, better suited way to say this at the moment).
