[not VR] HMCS Alignment Sensitivity
I’ve scratched my head in silence for a long time on this, so I’ll finally ask –
HMCS alignment for AZ/EL and ROLL modes has always been very difficult due to a hypersensitive cursor, but only in those modes. Is there an adjustment to dampen cursor movement in those modes? Do others experience this? Otherwise, my cursor works great in the FCR, TGP, etc.
The following settings are currently in Falcon BMS User.cfg.
set g_fCursorSpeed 0.75
set g_nAxisExp_AXIS_CURSOR_Y 80
set g_nAxisSat_AXIS_CURSOR_Y 50
set g_nAxisExp_AXIS_CURSOR_X 80
set g_nAxisSat_AXIS_CURSOR_X 50GC

RE: New free MFD/ICP app to control Falcon BMS from touch devices
@kungfoo
That is correct. Green on the ICP labels/buttons and MFD buttons similar to linked image. The user could select the version that suits the flight conditions or mission (unlit or lit).Something like this.

RE: Fly-By External View
@SoBad
My thoughts are similar. I have never been a fan of the “catch back up” portion. In addition, I seldom use exterior views because of the sound adjustment needed when returning to the cockpit. However, the urge for a fly-by arises periodically. I activate it via VoiceAttack.My VA is programmed to toggle the fly-by view, pause six seconds, then toggle the 3 key to return to the 3D cockpit. Thus, no more “catch back up” portion. Like you I wish the fly-by portion could be extended a bit.

Would you consider an option with day (default) and with night (green instrument lighting) on the default landscape layout? A toggle between the two.GC

RE: Viper TQS selectable in Setting -> Controllers
Totally agree. But speaking for myself, I was uncertain/confused whether some elements of the in-game Controllers page still apply (i.e., center joystick, tweak, throttle cutoff, and tweak AB detent) even when the BMS launcher is used.

“Only use the in game setup for graphics and sound now. No need to look in the controller section anymore.”
Good advice Quasi! I haven’t seen the tip stated so directly. Something similar should be added to the BMS User Manual, ver. BMS 4.37.3, section 3.4.

Cougar Grip vs F-16 Viper Grip (Warthog) Question
I expect many Warthog users have experience with a Cougar grip. My Cougar grip (now paired with a Virpil WarBRD-D base) is 20 (plus) years old and still works well. The clear coat is worn from the palm, but the paint is holding up. It’s hard to justify updating to a TM F-16 Viper grip, but the itch persists. Other than offering a CMS push function, larger paddle, and fresh set of switches, are there any other advantages/improvements I’ve overlooked? I assume they are the same size and weigh similar.
Thanks for any feedback.
