@phboudreault Most useful mapping for me was mapping FOV (zoom) to the extra analogue trigger. I had the DCS switch mapped also!

Doh! That was my problem too. Mark this one ‘solved’ methinks!

RE: Stealth in BMS
I voted yes. I see BMS as remaining an F-16 simulator for the forseeable future, but if real life vipers may soon have to contend with stealthy adversaries, then we should have the choice to make theatres that represent this. No-one has to fly any particular theatre after all.
The way I see it is as a question of pure technical feasibility and how well-modelled ‘stealth’ will be.

RE: manual trim test and stores jettison issue
@BVT_Gadget Also note that as of (I think) 4.36 you cannot access S-J mode while in any other mastermode (ie. DGFT override) or while on the ground (WOW) without flicking “GND jettison enable” to ON

RE: Increase TrackIR translation limits?
In the “falcon bms.cfg” file "set g_fViewlimitPitchDown 0.0 " lets you look further down in your cockpit.
If that isn’t what you are looking for you can play with the curves in your tracking software.
If that isn’t it either… I’m out of ideas

RE: Alt Launcher 2.1.0
@MailMan I had a similar problem in that after I did the update from 2.0 to 2.1, everything on my throttle (but only my throttle…) stopped working. In >User>Config I deleted all the “Setup.v100…” .xml files relating to my throttle (I had four of them as I was in 4x32 mode with my throttle), changed the throttle to DX128 mode and just rebound my buttons. All working fine since then.

RE: Falcon BMS Alternative Launcher (Easy Setup, Keep Joystick Assignments)
@Cloudless From page 153 of technical manual:
“In addition 4.36 now supports 128 btn. devices. That raises the logical number to 2048 (16 devices * 128
buttons)”So 16 full devices should work fine…

RE: Balkans Theater for Falcon BMS 4.36
@cougar56th Downloaded, installed and seeding fine for me no issues at all. Well done for this; my first non-KTO campaign is about to begin!

RE: 4.36 new display issues
Do you mean the 2d display? You haven’t specified. Using Alt-enter is a trick for moving the 2d display round your desktop if I’m not mistaken. Use CTRL-Enter if this is what you are trying to do, or go to gfx options, select ‘window’ mode, move window, reselect ‘borderless’ and you’re done.

RE: Alternate Launcher deinstallation
@zappE Just quickly off the top of my head early in the AL thread on the old forum there was a procedure for uninstalling AL. You had to copy back the old HUB.exe (that you backed up into another folder, right?) and I think some other other things too. Have a search for that- I can’t remember any more right now.

RE: Falcon BMS Alternative Launcher (Easy Setup, Keep Joystick Assignments)
A long shot but perhaps check none of your controllers (the ICP?) has more than 32 “buttons”.

RE: Speedbrake binding for non-cougar throttles
This is true but you can get intermediate position on the opening cycle. In any case, I only have the brakes full open or closed, and you can bind the intended behaviour on the pinky shift layer if you like. Or you can bind the toggle behaviour to a shifted layer. Now ppl have 4 options for binding their brakes!

Speedbrake binding for non-cougar throttles
Hi all, I recently tried a new binding for my x55 rocker switch (would work just as well on a 4-way hat too) that I thought I’d share. Basically, instead of just having AFBrakesOut and AFBrakesIn bound to each position, I have AFBrakesOut bound as normal, but to retract the brakes I use AFBrakesToggle (normally bound to ‘B’ key) instead. What this gives is a single press to retract the brakes all the way in, rather than having to hold the button down for 6 seconds. So long as the brakes are extended even a bit, they will retract when you hit the ‘Toggle’ bind.
Just a small QOL improvement but I thought I’d share it.

RE: Recommended unlooked feature
Understood .
So let me push a little bit further please , to be sure to understand your statements: Does your answer apply too to the others accurate fm planes, like the Mirage family , or the F-18 ?
What I think Dee-Jay was saying was that the question is outside the scope of his knowledge and interest, so whether the flight model is realistic or not makes no difference, as he probably had nothing to do with the modelling.

RE: Using AL'er to Program constant "shift" State within Game Controller settings?
Hi your question isn’t very clear to me but if you are asking how to program a shift state in Alternative launcher then the Mapping you want to bind is called “STICK: PINKY SWITCH (DX SHIFT)”. It doesn’t have to be mapped to your pinky switch, obviously, but it will still replicate pinky switch behaviour on a short press , (about 300ms) changeable in config but I can’t recall the actual line to edit right now.
For successful shifted behaviours you need “STICK: PINKY SWITCH (DX SHIFT)” mapped to your button and the shifted state of that button or it won’t ‘unshift’, but I think AL handles this automatically now.

RE: X56 Rhino Stick and Throttle Settings Help!
Hi chituma, if you are using the native UI to set up your controls then don’t go unplugging your devices or you will have endless headaches. If for any weird reason you (like me) must unplug things from time to time then definitely use Alternative Launcher as it will remember device order for you and the UI is much more user-friendly in general. You can then duplicate any good profile with ease, such as Snelle’s excellent x55 profile, and adapt it for the x56. And avoid using the SST programming software as much as possible (or completely )

RE: Changes in Controller config not working in flight
The UI is a little clunky and if controllers are unplugged or enabled (I have mine plugged into a powered USB controller with on/off switches for each socket) in the wrong order then you can seem to lose the settings. If you’ve done this in fact, the thing to do is exit the game WITHOUT CHANGING ANYTHING and restart. If this isn’t your problem then you may want to give yourself a quality of life upgrade and use Alternative Launcher instead - much better binding interface that will save you loads of headaches unless you are willing to learn all the foibles of the native UI.
You can easily do what you want within AL

RE: Targets in DTC
I’m pretty sure not. I just have all the targets I want attacked in STPTs 15-24, then I just select a TGT steerpoint and direct my wingman to “Attack my target”. Usually works for me.

RE: Cougar throttle and TUSBA + Warthog stick
Yeah what Trueno said; Get Alternative Launcher and then set everything up as in the real jet. Should be as easy as this job gets with WH stick and Cougar throttle!

RE: Here from DCS (old BMS user) - U4 seem REALLY buggy can someone help?
Peoples profiles for setups are working one day and not the next despite not being edited.
Are you referring to keybindings and axis assignments? If so you need to make sure nothing about your control setups has changed from the last time you started BMS or the device order will be all messed up. Solutions to this are all over the forums though!
