Canopy switch : three positions. The down position is momentary. The up pos is steady. The middle position is the stop position. The reason of momentary is that when closing the canopy there could be crewchief or material between the canopy and the sill. Releasing the switch stops immediatly the closing process. Hold the switch down until the canopy is locked. It,s now perfect programmed in BMS !!

RE: Key presses
I had the same problem with one switch. I realy could not find the problem. Its now solved. I started BMS, clicked on setup and controller and just waited. On a complete random timeset my FLT CNTRL BIT switch activated without any reason. After replacing all problems were gone.

Super, looking forward to the update.

4.35 UHF Radio Keys Switch screen settings
Maybe it’s already know by the development team, but i can’t find any info on the forum. All the keys wich have ALT+Enter, switches the screen settings, it means that when i switch on my backup UHF Panel, the screen changes to full screen or windowd. For your info, i have a full cockpit with an UHF panel electronics developed by Wolfman. Because the keys are hardcoded inside the panel, i can’t change the keystrokes. I did that with the DL switch to avoid the screen switching.
is there an update coming for this issue?

RE: X65F 3d print Physical Lift Detent
You have to lift the throttle to move it to the AB position.

+1 i could fly over my house thats at the end of the airstrip of Twenthe…falcas, any possibilty it will be available soon?

RE: The jsf start switch
Thanks for your help. I realy need to start learning the manual of the F16…
JSF switch works perfect. What did i do on your advise.
1. i activated the cutoff/Idle on the throttle
2. throttle calibration
3. Power to forward position
4. Fuel to norm
5. Hold the jsf several seconds until the green indicator lightens up.
6. After 20 pct , move the throttle to idleup to the next cable to make ( gear panel)

RE: The jsf start switch
thx, i will do some tests this evening. What i did see is that the switch isn’t moving at all in 3d cockpit, while the keyfile is ok because the configuration settings inside BMS works. What you write about the throttle is the same what i saw… so work and test for me to do…
Extra info, i have a full cockpit interfaced with XKEYS (Switches) / AIC (Indicators) / Pegasus hardware and software (EHSI, DED and PFLD) and PHCC (instruments)

RE: The jsf start switch
thx, i will try this evening again. i pushed the switch indeed many times, maybe i missed the start….

RE: The jsf start switch
Same problem here, i modified nothing. When i test the switch in configuration, it’s ok. But when i want to do a ramp start, the Jetstart switch does nothing. Not with the hardware switch, not with the keyboard and not with the mouse. I will check if there is a conflict inside the keyfile, but i am worried about this. My main question : why is it working inside BMS/ config setup and not when i want to do a ramp start.

RE: Air brakes ?
I am not familiar with Pokeys, check http://xkeys.com/PIComponents/index.php for info about the XKEYS. You can use it for keyboard/mouse and joystick functions. My pit uses original cables from the panels. so that means hundreds of meters cables. The little pcb does it all The PCB will solve your ghosting problem.
Buying from Europe is expensive, within the USA the shipping is much cheaper.

RE: Air brakes ?
@Stevie, that looks like ghosting on the switches. Programming the speedbrake can be easy done with XKEYS. Closed should be programmed as steady switch (release is the middle position) and the speedbreak open is a momentary switch. With the momentary function you can open the speedbrake step by step (or hold to open full)
What interface do you use for your pit ?

RE: Air brakes ?
Some technical info for pit builders. Its an indicator that switches with ground. This is very rare in the cockpit. Also RWR and AOA switch with ground. All other indicators have one common ground.
Just for your info…

RE: Yellow spider
With canopy open “canopy closed switches” are not depressed, there will be no pressuration, so canopy light is on, even with the spider down.
Can not imagine the canopy trembling, this would also cause cockpit depressuration, like mentioned before an absolute no-go.

The story is true, its told me by a current F16 pilot. There must be indeed some failure on one of the switches….old aircraft i think…

RE: Yellow spider
That answers my main question, without the spider down, the warning is stays on. But….when the canopy is open and the spider is down…is the canopy warning light off ?
I know from a f16 pilot that during flight the canopy light goes sometimes on and off because trembling of the canopy. -
RE: Yellow spider
Thanks all for discussing this part of the aircraft. I start to become a bit confused. When goes the warning light off ? When the canopy claws are at final position ? Or when the spider is down ? As written before, there are several momentary switches ( one under the spider and one under the left aft glareshield and maybe more ? ) personally i think that after the spider is down and the claws are at position the warning light goes off.
As reddog wrote , bms misses the spider function and offcourse the momentary switch down for canopy closing.
Another point what Falcas wrote… when canopy is open and the spider goes down, the seal is inflated and full power is possible…is there a protection onboard ???
A small part of the aircraft… so many questions…complicated hobby we have… -
RE: Yellow spider
In Bms there is now the simplified canopy function, offcourse enough for most users. My request is that the switch and spider works as it should be.
1. Switch up, canopy open
2. Momentary hold switch down for closing the canopy
3. After closing the spider, the canopy warning light goes off.To be honoust, i have not a slight idea, if programming this request is easy or complicated. The bms team is fantastic and i notice they try to reach perfection. Maybe my request is possible ?

RE: Yellow spider
Can we conclude that after closing the spider and the canopy is closed the warning light goes off ?
To Reddog, can you add the full function of the canopy switch and spider in the wishlist for BMS ? -
RE: Yellow spider
Thanks all for many replies. keeps one big question unanswered. When is the warninglight off. (1. after closing the canopy or 2. after closing the canopy and with the spider down) My quess is the second option , maybe Stubbies2003 can step in here.
The spider option of Martin is only made for eyecandy and protecting the switch. His construction is made for 90 pct of us as pitbuilders. My cockpit is based on real construction and the spider construction of Martin is not usuable. The spring of the spider is connected to a bracked that is connected to one of the ribconstructions. Big compliments for his work, and he knows that from me

RE: Yellow spider
Great info and very nice picture, the half circle part presses the valve. On the spider there is an extension forward of the switch protection. That one presses the switch with the little wheel. When you have a real spider you can see that the paint is off at that point. The spider is indeed not pressing the switch down.
I own all parts of the spider section, i only miss the top of the valve. If anybody has that part for me, it would be great !
