Hello Folks,
usually I’m able to fix issues, just by searching the forum as 99% has already been adressed an a solutions is available. This time havn’t found a solution and running out of ideas.
My issue is that Helios won’t function proberly with BMS. I list a detailed descrition of what has been done so far.
Setup is as follows:
Single PC Setup, so Helios client runing on same PC as BMS.
Windows 10 1903
7’’ inch HDMI Touchscreen. The Touchscreen appears as HID Mouse Device
1. Installed BMS Versions
BMS 4.34 (running in window mode)
BMS 4.33 U1 only installed to get YAME64 für MFD Extraction
2. Helios Setup
Im not using a downloaded full profile. So for testing just set up a simple profile with just 2 Buttons for testing.
Falcon has been setup as Interface and is pointing to my current used .key file
The 2 Buttons are bound to callbacks SimToggleAutopilot which Results into Keyboard Key “A” and SimSelectSRMOverride wich Results into Keyboard Key “D”
when testing with Notepad++ as current active Application I can see the keystrokes beeing send from Helios.
First issue I had was that when starting the Helios Profile and touching one of the buttons the tap appeared not on the touchscreen but on the primary screen.
Easily identified as the touchscreen send a little overlay blob on the touched area.
To fix this I first tried to setup the touchscreen as primary monitor (not what I really want) second solution was to use the Windows 10 Tablet mode monitor regognition setup.
Second issue every tab on one of the buttons resulted in the corresponding Keystroke beeing send twice. This was fixed with setting up in Helios Control Center Preferences.
When trying the Helios Profile against BMS none of the 2 callbacks ever get’s recognized in BMS neither in 2D Setup Controller Screen nor in 3D Cockpit.
In 2D moreover BMS looses focus, when touching one of the helios buttons.
The only thread’s I found with similar issue just had a all of a sudden it started to work or no solution at all.
Any further ideas appreciated.
Regards Oakdesign
Edit:
Issue is fixed and Helios and BMS now working as expected. Was a Windows 10 UAC issue. Even so I had set “run as Administrator” on the Desktop Link for Helios Control Center, the exe wasn’t starting the Helios Control Center directly as admin and everything works fine now
