WIP: F-14 B/D

Very nice stingray_SIX_TWO! (But please, reassure us, N. has nothing to do with this production?)
I guess I should be flattered by that comment only I’m not. In fact I resent it. I need the Gorn or some ponies here to cheer me up, seriously.
Send me the contact details of anyone who questions the authenticity of any of my work and I reassure you I’ll be glad to destroy their arguments faster than you can say ‘bombs away’ in private or in public.
Just a quick glance at both models to a trained eye (and I say this as an untrained rookie) would save you the time to even ask ;).
So yeah, you can rest assured.
The only thing I use other models like Aerosoft, Leatherneck or Dino Cattaneo’s Tomcat for is spotting their mistakes so I can improve on virtual representation of the F-14 in my own.

Nobody at this time, this is why I am asking so now in public, so no more needs to worry about it …

PERFECT! This is what I was hoping for!
GOOD luck Stingray Six Two! … keep us up to date with progress on the Cat! You already know that many ppl are following your work closely.
And sincere thank you for your reply sir! (it is indeed important for us to spend good nights ;))

Hee hee…
Can you please reassure me that "N"obody had nothing to do with the saddling of those ponies…?
We’ll all sleep much easier tonight, knowing that I’ve employed a double-negative.
(Speaking of negativity, I was referring to the grammar; not the content)

These are so called weapon rails or weapon pallets. Tomcats initially carried these to load 2 or 4 Phoenix missiles mounted on ‘LAU-93’ Phoenix launchers. Later on with the onset of the ‘Bombcat’ the rails were fitted with ‘BRU-32’ bomb racks with dual ejector pistons via ‘ADU-73’ adapters. Up until now I’ve only modeled the rails themselves, launchers will follow.
The rails are fitted over the ‘Sparrow Wells’ in front and on bottomside connectors in the rear. All ‘Sparrow Wells’ (2 side by side in front, 2 back to back in the rear) include ‘LAU-92’ launchers. The rails themselves are identical except for the aerodynamic fairing attached to the tip in front. There is a umbilical bridge yet to be modeled to connect front and rear pallets electrically or in the Phoenix use case provide cooling to the rear missiles.

Here you can see the mounted AIM-154 and the mentioned bridges between the rails:

And here with Sparrow configuration:

That is a very, very good looking model!

That is a VERY useful reference shot, someone really knew how to set their lens:). Many thanks.

The specific pylon can carry AIM-7, AIM-9 or AIM-54:
