4.33.1 will release shortly: what you need to know and how to be prepared

No. Patience

My infoâs out of date or I got confused. When 433 was removed at the start of negotiations 432 was still up but now itâs not? Yeah itâs really annoying that itâs out of circulation because itâs coming back soon and the barrier to legit participation is minuscule. Iâm trying to phrase this delicately but I would not be upset with anyone that somehow acquired an older version and started on the learning path with a purchased GOG or whatever copy of Falcon 4.0 in their back pocket so as to be ready for 4331. I guess you could read manuals and watch YouTube videos if you wanted a primer before actually having the software.
I find it really insulting to say âif I care laterâ as if the job is up to BMS to convince the user. Iâve heard someone say âif it survives my HDDâ but it was more like if it survives his ADHD and unwillingness to learn.

4.32 was pulled back at the exact same time as 4.33.

Raw falcon 4 is a little more nostalgia than I care for having just tried it. I wonder if later add-ons that I still have such as redviper,FF, and of course various bms would nuke the next bms install check. Definitely something to re visit in those. Only moments to reset to original if need be.

FF has an installer independent of Falcon4.0 and/or BMS.

Well done!! Not that I was worried. Another great effort in the very interesting history Falcon 4. I recall a few worrisome times in the past.
I just installed the 1998 cd (First Edition w. Binder), and will be patiently waiting 3 or 4 weeks.
I canât thank you guys enough!

Yeah open falcon would have been a more appropriate example maybe. There is at least one other I can`t even remember its name. Red viper was a favourite. Possibly most were independent.

This might sound premature, but will 4.33.1 have the cockpit fixes for the F-15E? I love the Viper and the F-18 is good, but when I saw that 4.33 had a viable F-15E I was overjoyed. Itâs too bad a certain other sim developer wonât embrace it. Itâs still a viable aircraft and many Air Forces, including the US and Israel, prefer the upgraded F-15E to the cluster that is the F-35. Screw stealth, sheer firepower will continue on for the near future. Not trying to troll, just stating an observation

Since 4.33.1 is an update you should expect bug fixes primarily.

Including some fixes to theHornet FM AFAIK.

better not hear anyone whinning about paying 10 bucks to play that sim :dhorse:
Considering whatâs been splashed out on gear alone (in my case, literally a gaming pc specifically for BMS), the cost of the sim is mere peanuts. Thatâs how one ends up with two original CDâs, two Allied Force CDâs, a copy on GOG, and now, another on Steam, (to appreciate Tommoâs cool response to BMS).
Thank you BMS team and Tommo. Great to know that Falcon is alive and well, and looking like it has a solid future. My addiction is in safe hands!

I would say,now we are talkingâŚ
Congrats to BMS team!!! -
I take it the changes in 4.33.1 (regarding the subject matter) wonât affect things like the contents of the âconfigâ folder which we will be able to safely copy into our new install, is that right?

I believe the only things you should copy over are the files with your callsign in their filename, but I could be mistaken.
-
All files from 4.33 can be restored except falcon bms.cfg. As a rule of thumb never copy this file from one BMS update to another; it is always best to compare the old and new files and change options in the new version accordingly. Winmerge is a useful program to perform that task.
-
WinMerge is indeed a very useful tool.
-
I literally cannot wait til this comes out, so excited, thanks for sorting stuff out with the current owner.

Are looking at another session of setting up the HOTAS? Iâm not complaining, just asking.

Well, clean up when youâre done.
