it might have been there, but it comes first from the -34
Not the BMS one either. A lot of the functions there are not in the sim. For example, the TGP in BMS does not have RECCE settings, and the BMS jets are not equipped with an AIFF interrogator.

This charts are not really correct. The CMS look like the CMS of the MLU, at some difference.
Stick to the chart in the manual :). -
once again, real docs may be confusing
as stated in this topic, stick to bms dashes -

i would suggest that you learn these functions in context. For example, Don’t try and learn all the functions of the NWS/MSL-Step-Button at the same time. Learn what it does in the specific situation that you’re working on, than it’s pretty simple as you will find that there’s a system behind it and it will become quite intuitive . Learn the functions of the aircraft step by step. This goes for BMS in general.

You can have a look in the Joystick section of the forum, maybe TM Warthog, and have a look for settings, or RTFM <lg>.
TMS -> the TM (and AFAIK) stands for Target Managment
DMS -> the DM (and AFAIK) stands for Display Managment
DMS Up: HUD as SOI
DMS Down: FCR, HSD, … as SOI
DMS Left: Cycle through left MFD formats
DMS Right: Cycle through right MFD formatsCMS -> the CM (and AFAIK) stands for Countermeasures Managment
CMS UP: Drop Programmed
CMS Right: StandBy
CMS Down: ECM On - Consent
CMS Left: Def Jammer ProgramOr you have a look at this:

It is from the FalconPedia, IIRC…

What is SMT? I know its not in BMS but i am just curious.
And what is RCCE?
And anybody knows how Penguin MFD page looks? -
I played this game long time ago and am getting back into it. Built my own track clip and PS3eye, works great. But I can’t remember what all the dang buttons do. Could someone help me by filling in the blanks? I have figured out the TMS up is to lock a target and down is to cancel lock. Does it do more than that? What about all the others? TMS left and right? CMS UPLR?, DMS UPLR? I wish the manual were searchable…
TMS Up Lock Target
TMS down Clear lock
TMS left ???
TMS right ???DMS Up ???
DMS down ???
DMS left ???
DMS right ???CMS up ???
CMS down ???
CMS left ???
CMS right ???Any others???
Thanks
Rollo
My 2 cents… start gradually. Work out what you need to do and the commit to memory. Then expand once you are confident comfortable…unless you have the time to really cram and learn…

They are, actually.
Check Install folder ->Docs -> Falcon BMS manuals -> TO-BMS1F-16CM-1.pdf
TMS, DMS, etc. are HOTAS switches on the real jet. Look up the Throttle and sidestick sections to know what function they do in which mode.
Yes!!
Roughly pages 26 and 54 to start.
-
Just assign all F-16 HOTAS to your joystick and start TacticalReference with BMS-Training.pdf and you will finally understand most of HOTAS functions.
Oops, I should resume rest of my translation project.

_MS is ____ Management Switch.
T, Targeting.
D, Display.
C, Countermeasures.DMS is up for HUD, down to swap, and left/right to cycle through the left/right screens. CMS is up to run knob program, left run program 6, down permission yes, right permission no. Those are the easy ones. Really CMS should be the last thing on your mind. You can fly 1000 hours BMS and never touch CMS and be mission effective.
I can’t summarize TMS with any completeness except for up is select, down is deselect, and right is the usual auxiliary function. Just take each task and situation one at a time to relearn what TMS does in each situation as you need it.

Thanks all for the comments. Looks like time and training missions will help me get this down.

Rollo, You’ll find this a very rewarding part of BMS. When these things start to click(no pun intended) is when you’ll really get what BMS is about. It’s such a good feeling ,for example, to roll in on a target with a boresighted Maverick,“play the piano”, and get a hit

If it was easy I wouldn’t do this.
