F/A-18 C/D Manual?

Is there a manual for the F/A-18 C/D ? The only thing I see in the DOCS folder is the cockpit layout.
-
There is nothing, and the Real Life Natops Manual won’t help much either

Although it does contain some useful information …. launch and landing weights, approach patterns, etc.

You should be able to get some info on Youtube. “Startup Procedure” if that’s what you require.

Hi, go in http://www.cockpits.nl/, top menu right side and click in (Misc. downloads) menu and choose: Rampstart checklists>F/A 18C checklist in PDF.
On here F/A 18C cockpit layout Link:http://www.cockpits.net/website/F18CWIDEdescr.html

That’s awesome but how do we get that cockpit into BMS???

F-18 doesn’t require a separate manual because all the systems are copies of the F-16. Only thing that’s different are the cockpit layout changes which are already documented in the docs folder. Pictures and labels show what switches do what since not every switch is operable.

I had a copy of the real navy manual. I download on internet but after reading it I trashed it. It was mor than 500 pages talking about the F-18, it was the aircraft manual. I am sure there must be something out there, I used a search engine but I can not remember where I got it. It was more than 13 years ago… I deleted the pdf, mainly because I never love the F18 and after readin the manual I did not change my mind.

Falcon remains an F16 sim andso the F18 will never be more than an after thought.
Waiting for the DCS hardcore Hornet.

…but not holding my breath.

And then Mower will never get on a BMS stick again……

Does anyone have info on fuel consumption in the Hornet? I’m switching to use it in my campaign and realizing that if I just load up like I’m used to in the Viper I end up coming back to the boat a little heavy. I don’t need any detailed data, just enough to ballpark what I take on missions

Yeah… I have been waiting for DCS to release a decent Hornet of any type since LOMAC days.
BMS Falcon is a pretty cool F16! I have taken a BMS Hornet for a test drive but that’s about it.
The F16 Program is cool though. I guess DCS is claiming to release a Hornet and some 3rd party F14 Tomcat along with Persian Gulf Theater and carriers we can go inside of via aircraft elevators.
So If we drop down to the hanger in an elevator and taxi inside with wings folded, I wonder if we can get out and walk, or just hit eject and if the over head in the hanger doesn’t kill us we can walk about inside maybe? That would be funny if we could actually walk to a ready room and brief and debrief. -

You do know there is a fuel dump switch on the hornet right?

Ah, I didn’t know that sound flight planning could be supplemented by just dumping fuel instead… would you recommend doing so on every flight?

I knew the real Hornet had a dump, did not realize it was possible in BMS. That certainly helps, but it would still be nice to have some idea of fuel usage for mission planning.

Actually that really is how blue water ops are done in the USN. You maintain as much fuel for as long as possible, then dump it when you’re in the stack to get below max trap.
-
Yeah that’s what I’m saying it’s crazy! The Navy snuff is always a surprise, I just didn’t know they rolled like that, so admittedly I know tons about USAF ops, but very little about USN ops, that’s pretty cool.

Yep fully implemented, just dump her until your at trap weight and away you go

Trap weight on the F/A-18 is 36,000 lbs right?
