With Fieters joining the German airforce and essentially retiring from flying for awhile, United Operations Airforce (UOAF) has started up a small mod team, with the blessing of Uri and the ITO team, to create an 80s theater, this is an update thread.
Introducing BETA for 80s ITO, featuring 3 new campaigns, a dozen new aircraft and weapons.
THIS IS A BETA. You will experience issues. But we rather release early and often.

v2.2 fixes:
- New campaign implemented in the third campaign slot based on Syria but featuring tweaks for UOAF. This is an early version which has an unbalanced campaign and needs a lot of work. There is a carrier with currently an f-14 squadron on it.
- There was a bug where jettisoning a TER with zuni pods would cause the f-16 to fly to deadly speeds, this has been fixed. F-16s can only carry a single zuni pod per applicable station.
- AGM-12 removed from A-4
- GBUs removed from F-16s
- LGBs removed from F4s
- LGBs removed from Kfir
- AIM-54 added to F-14A stores
- GBU-15s added/restricted to F-16B and F-4
- MiG-28 added, has Russian loadout (for TEs only)
- F-14 canopy texture bug fixed
- Pepe’s f-14(D) pit implemented for the F-14A
- F-14 now has green MFDs for proper 80s flair
- Finished 1st version of the UOAF campaign - various changes
- Tweaked ARM performance to reflect realistic PK
- Installed new F-4E model by Manos
- F-4s now have green MFDs
- MANPADS added to Ramat David
- Hawk added to Ramat David
- Patrol boats added off of Syria
- F-14 stores are fixed, now has proper stocks
- MANPADS threat steer added
- Removed datalink from all aircraft
- Fixed campaign triggers
- Removed TGP’s, HTS, TFR and LGB’s from several planes
- Manos F-4 texture misalignment fixed
- Implemented realistic tailart for f-16s
- Fixed slatted F-4 flight model; previously AI were crashing
- Squadron stores were improved; some squadrons had low stores or no stores on some weapons
- KC707 texture implemented
- F-15A texture fixed, previously was USAF
- Kfir and f-16 squadrons had aim-9g replaced with aim-9p
- Removed syncbuild.bat from distribution (developer tool)
- Renamed Egyptian campaign to Serpent Sting
- ARMs (agm-45 and agm-78) performance improved slightly
Let’s explain something about the 3rd campaign we included in the last “release”
“UOAF ITO80s” - the one with the F-14 pic
That is for the big UOAF multiplayer events we fly each saturday.
It’s basically just the Syria campaign copied with a few edits.
Added an aircraft carrier for the people who wanted carrier ops.
Moved one squadron of each plane to Sde Dov, so that everyone in the event could fly from that airbase. They all have “set by HQ” unchecked by default.
This means the AI will not frag any missions for them, giving the fragger plenty of aircraft to work with.
I would probably advise you not to enable set by HQ, 7 AI squadrons flying from one airbase would probably cause a catastrophic traffic jam and unplayable lag.
Just fly the 1st Syria campaign if you want all the squadrons at realistic locationsFigured I might as well just include it until an actual 3rd campaign is ever made
v2.1 fixes:
- squadrons totally reworked (again) :P… ground forces changed and moved (removed M1A1),…
- quick fix of F-15/16/KfirC7 squadrons, fixed sizes of all squadrons and renamed F-16B squadron
- fixed 140th positition in 1988
- fixed various squadron location issues, added 160 and 161 squadrons to 1982
- Fixed Kfir squadron and C-130 Squadron number/base
- J7E icon fixed
- Fixed ability to Add/Remove Pilot legs
- changed 113th from AH1 to KfircC7
- All Israeli Patches added to art\resource folder, imageids.id and campaigns
- Fixed 147th patch, removed sonic boom, adjusted starting time of UI song
v2.0 fixes:
- Pilot Legs and Hebrew ATC can now be properly added/removed
- F-4E can now use countermeasures
- Improvements to SAM placement in Bakaa Valley
- Some Syrian SA-6 modified to be stationary emplacements to simulate israeli intel advantage
- Texture fixes
- New Mk83/84 textures
- Implementation of new missile physics for ARMs and SA-2/3/5 (Elouda)
- Database loadout tweaks
- F-16’s can use triple Mav racks again since we found photos of Israelis using them.
- Kfir and A4M can carry some GBU’s
- Fixed Mig-23 AWACS report sound files
- Fixed some AC avionics
You will need to start a new campaign to see all of the changes take effect.

Hi guys,
quick tip, a DB change may affect compatiblity between version. throw in a version number in the theater TDF (probabbly under description) so people can make sure they are all on the same version to help you guys debug. -

Late night testing the '88 Egypt campaign.
Some BVR jousting with Egyptian F-16’s followed by a furball with F-16, enemy F-4 and J-7’s. Foxy gets two guns kills before taking a heater up the tailpipe.

In the current build we haven’t messed with victory conditions yet but we have built two campaigns and respective oob from scratch using research. Long term gameplay balancing is next on the list.

This is so awesome!!! The 80s are my favorite era of air combat and this theater/campaign has so much potential for some awesome online action!

@Krause ever think about a better Kfir? Definatelly when i finish the IAF Phantom im gonna give them to u. During that period they had them allready converted? I mean IAF or they just had the original E? Cause if they had used still original then i can make it almost fairly quick (just the camo i have to make). To make an E i just have to delet some antennas or add others and i have an E. If you want let me know!

The F-4E is accurate for the early 80’s campaigns.
The “Kurnass 2000” upgrade entered service in April 1989.
We have a late 80’s campaign somewhat arbitrarily set in “1988.” This was so Egypt could acquire Western tech: F-16’s, Mirage 2000EM… We could change it to '89 for all I care
If you provided both models, with camos, I’m sure we could use them.
And what’s this about a better Kfir? Go on…

My friends and I have been playing tons of the 88 campaign and we love it!
Can’t wait to see updated for this.
One complaint we have is the annoying jet engine/sonic boom sound that happens when joining the campaign. It’s waaaay too loud.
Also there is no way to turn the pilot model off and no way to use Hebrew voices. (using the included exe errors when changing these)

It’s because you have your interface sounds turned up way too loud for some reason, just set the slider to halfway… Sigh, no one is into the sonic boom huh…I was trying to get you hyped. I guess I could replace back the (default) most annoying sound in the world. Not sure why people are so attached to that horrifying screeching noise but alright LOL

About the kfir nothing particular. For now. Later who knows ?
As for F-4 i cannot still provide the Kurnass its on the works i can only provide normal E. I will make some research for camos and externa details and i promise ill get back to you guys as soon as possible!EDIT: just read that externally was almost the same with E the Kurnass, Avionics and other stuff was upgraded. Not only the refualling probe… 1 request only whatever info/Serial number you can give me for squadrons and whitch of them had refuelling probe and witch had not.
