Text color of MFD of real Block 52 Viper
-
some like green, some grey, some light yellow
Bonedust likes Purple and Drillin likes Pink:D
RAM22

IRL, many of these colors are configurable. Thus different real life squadrons may choose their own colors. There is a plan to eventually make this configurable, but it’s low-priority.

Bonedust likes boys and Drillin likes Hot Pink

When I extract the MFD’s, they are B&W when the MFD’s in the 3D pit are colored. Is that a bug? No biggy, just wondering.

Ok lets finish with this one…
So, my understanding is that the question is about MFD label (= text) colors. On older blocks (4x and below) that had monochrome CRT MFD’s, the color is standard green. This cannot be changed since that is why they call them monochrome. On newer blocks (5x and up, as and upgraded / MLU / SCU etc) that are equipped with color LCD MFD’s, this is configurable through Enhanced Color Programmable Display Generator. In general, most of the foreign end-users don’t have access to source coding etc to make any changes to this equipment. So in most users MFD labels are white, there have been some USAF upgraded Block 4x that were tested with yellow labels, but i think eventually they turned them to white also. Just to add that these white font labels have a black external pixel surrounding the text, so to be able to recognize it above other white display images like TGP, FLIR, Maverick etc.

If you leave aside the MFD label colors that cannot be changed, correct. You can have through planning software & DTC the route lines or threat circles in pink color.
Thus different real life squadrons may choose their own colors.
Again not talking for the MDF labels, yes and no. Yes because you have the ability to do it as per the above, no because there are SOP’s that must be followed regarding such minor details that can easily become big headache if not standardized between airmen.

So, even it can be chosen by having access to the source code, the standard its white!.
Thanks a lot Raptor. -

It depends of the OFP BMS is modeling or the OFP RL aircraft is using.

But how can you change the MDF color from Green to White? Can you do it from the configuration?

Looks like Dutch F-16 MLUs use green labels, judging from this OIR video (48 seconds in and onwards):
-
Same for Baf. Green labels.
According to a source the color is programmable via the dtc but they use green as default. -
Exactly.

Exactly.
Ok so why it cannot be changed. Where its hard coded?
It should be simple enough it’s just a goddamned text color. Don’t tell me it cannot be done. Back in OP we thought something like BMS could come up, and here we are
So here its the file so hard coded please?

You’re absolutely right. It’s an outrage! How dare they! Who do they think they are? I would definitely demand a refund straight away!

Hardcoded means it’s a value stored in the code lines. From those lines comes the exe we run.
So the exe is your file u search for.Στάλθηκε από το MI 5 μου χρησιμοποιώντας Tapatalk

For sure Arty
But there’s any way to access it without any special magic trick?
