COMMS 4.34

Hello. I have a problem understanding what you do wrong in spite of your detailed explanations.
-
Default comms channel with wingmen on VHF is channel 15.
Make sure to open your dtc during flight planning and click default comms and default iff, then save the dtc.
Once in the plane, dont forget to load the cartridge. -
Hello. I have set the radio well and I hear ATC and AWACS, but I do not communicate with wingmen hold …. even if I enter the VHF frequency for communication manually, I do not hear it hold …

It is correct, only if you are in the first flight of the package
The second default to VHF preset 16, then 17it’s important to be complete for the Op and other readers, later on
If not, we’ll have guys saying they followed recommendation but it still does not workIn doubt, ALWAYS check the briefing

Please describe step by step how do you set up the radio - both in planning and in cockpit.

i’d never fiddled the radio freq on planning (since i only play campaign/dogfight) but in game you should start the aircraft, Turn the knobs on the UHF panel and in the IFF panel (CNI/C&I) and then go to the DTC page on the MFDs and click LOAD ALL, then set up the comms presets accordingly (preset 1 UHF for ramp start and preset 15 in VHF for intra-flight comms, sometimes 16 or 17 will work.) and the test the VHF with Flight/Element/Wingman Page with the runway align command, if setup correctly you should be getting a response.
hope it helps.

By any chance is this while flying an On Call CAS mission? If you have a controller in your package, you will find that despite what your IFF may be, your default comms channel to the wingman may be different. For example if the package has 3 flights, the first being another cas flight, the second being the controller and the third being your flight, you would assume that your default comms channel would be 17 when in fact it is actually 16 (the controller flight in package “doesn’t count” in a comms sense). Yet if you check your IFF settings your ownship and wing will be 31 and 32 respectively, and will show up on radar as such. This initially threw me for a loop.
