Seems from the crashlog that possibly some textures are missing in the Terrdata\Objects\KoreaObj folder.
Or possibly some textures are corrupted somehow. The crash is at generic file fetching C++ functions (FindNextFileW). Seems like somehow it is failing/crashing.Hard to tell exactly without debug info. But my bet is on something corrupted.
More questions:
1. Are you “new” to BMS? I mean, you used to fly 4.32, 4.33 etc or 4.34 is the first time you use BMS?
2. Is this a new system? you had older systems which used to work fine with BMS?
3. You didn’t installed by mistake BMS 4.34 into the same folder where the original Falcon 4.0 is, right?
4. Did you installed any mods or additional data before trying to enter 3D world for the first time?
5. What module of BMS you try to launch? I mean is it: Instant action, dogfight, TE, Campaign etc? Which one of those?And BTW, better put crashlogs inside code tags (not html), this way it’ll become a scrollable area
Cheers!

I had bums 4.34 on another computer with Windows 7 64 bit. It worked fine. I have a new computer now with Windows 10 pro. I did not put it in same folder as Falcon 4.0. I didn’t add any mods. And I am trying to launch from the initial menu. Never got far enough to pick a campaign, etc. and I have no idea how to put put the log inside code tags.

@Greg:
I have no idea how to put put the log inside code tags.
Based on what I-Hawk is saying, I would try uninstalling BMS and Falcon 4.0 completely and then reinstall. As for how to use the code tag (and most other tags), you put the keyword in two sets of square [] brackets. With the second bracket having a slash in it. Like this:
[TAG][/TAG]
Just replace the word TAG with CODE and then between the tags you paste in the crashlog.

I have tried that several times, with my antivirus program disabled. Still crashes it desktop after I hit “launch”. The Benchmarksims logo comes up, as if it is starting to load, and then just closes out. I have done all the suggestions above, and even tried running in Windows 7 compatibility mode, since it worked on my old computer with Windows 7. No dice! Don’t know what else to do.
-
Well I’m certainly no expert but if it were me I think I’d try a different video card. Probably the one out of the old machine if you had it working with BMS. I just watched a video on Youtube yesterday where something like 20% of AMD video card users that subscribe to this tech guys channel and responded to his poll – well they reported not being able to play one or more their games – something along those lines anyway.
I had a game that didn’t work – can’t remember the title – it might have been 4.33. I tried loading an older version of a video driver for my card and the game played with older driver. Nothing scientific on my part to figure it out. Just throwing darts blindfolded and lucked out.

Try to install Falcon 4.0 and BMS in C:/ and not other HDD or partition.

I will give this a try, but why would that make any difference?

In the past there were some users with similar problem as yours and installing in same drive of Windows solved the problem. You could try.

OK, I installed Falcon 4.0 and BMS 4.34 to my C drive, as suggested. I installed them as an administrator. It still CTD after I click on “Launch”. I guess this game won’t work with my setup. Thanks for the suggestions, guys.

Hello,
Probably Windows 10, some update, this operating system is problematic!
Good Luck !! -

Sorry for that.

Well that’s crappy. Have never had any issues except with deleting the dx9display and turning off the fullscreen optimizations crap when it blackscreened, usually after new drivers were installed.
Have my Falcon 4 on drive and BMS on my G: drive.
Has to be something we are missing here.
Don’t have a headset installed and not plugged in by chance? That’s an old one. -
Or having a force feedback joystick

I tried with and without the headset plugged in. Still has CTD either way. I do not have a forcefeedback joystick. Here is a thought. When I install it gets to a point where it has DirectX 6 listed, with a box to check. I have DirectX 11, so did not check that box. Could that be the issue? Also, if I do check the box, and it installs DirectX 6, would that mess up my DirectX 11? Wouldn’t want to do that.

Weird one, I have no recall of that being in the setup process. Maybe someone else has seen that one.

@Greg
… just a thought… , have you installed DX9 runtimes ?
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109
DX10/11/12 - Comes preinstalled on Win10 , but runtimes for DX9 have to be installed separately from that link above ,… IT HAS TO BE DONE for BMS as it uses DX9
still … I’m not sure is it the real problem … from crashlog report , indeed seems that some file(s) is/are missing
Download and install DX9 then we’ll see. - if it was already installed, nothing bad is gonna happen if re-installed again.

@Greg:
Hi,
Shameless plug: have you tried the solutions of this blog post?

OK, I downloaded and installed the DX9 runtimes. Still no change. Not sure this game is going to work on my system.
