BMS updated manual under WIP from Redog !! ?
-
Having been lucky enough to have a preview of this I cannot believe the amount of time it took to bring it together from all the different sources it needed.
For those having stuck with Falcon through thick and thin it will be an interesting read. You may still learn something new; that’s the nature of our beast.
For those having come back to Falcon after a break, or only just discovering it for the first time it will be a godsend. Having one all encompassing document (rather than a whole folder of Legacy Manuals) is the answer to our dreams.
Believe me having gone back through all the legacy documentation trying to find when something was first implemented and how it works was a pain in the backside. This document even sheds light on facts I’d not found anywhere else and it’s 100% relevant to Falcon 4 BMS, unlike the real life stuff. Brilliant work in progress and Red Dog is as keen to get it out as you are to read it.
You shouldn’t have posted this, i wasnt aware of a new BMS manual in progress, and after reading this now i cant wait to see it….dammit!!
Thanks Red Dog for the work, hope to see it soon!

Just a suggestion that the manual could be released at least for chapters that are done and proofread. Surely this is a lot of material that will have to be digested piece by piece. In the meantime people could get help at least on that. This manual is badly needed. The thing about stuff like this is that you could spend years writing it and there will always be things left to cover. Try getting the most basic 80% out there that can get people flying and learning and the rest can be filled in.

I rather think I will stick to the plan and wait for the current proof read salvo to be completed to release. I refrained myself to add anything for the past few weeks. So once I’m confident that the stuff is almost correct I will release.
Some aspect of it are already outdated from the future BMS update but I will cover that in future release. -
appreciate your hard work,
any news on the proof reading progress?
regards
Mazzic

yes thanks to dedicated proof reader, we made great progress.
Still another 40 pages to proof though and some code wise confirmation needed…Hang on it’s coming

Is it a Dash-1 like about the airplane Dash-1 or is it more about BMS in total?

Thank you so much Red Dog! BMS 4.32 is the best sim i’ve ever flown (had falcon 3.0 and several other sims as a teenager, been flying 4.0 since 08). People like you have given us such an amazing gift! Thanks to you and all who have turned Falcon 4.0 into a beautiful work of art and science.

08 i meant to say (don’t know where that smiley face came from!?) and i should’ve added (to art and science) community! Not only is BMS beautiful art and science, but these people giving their own time for something they love and enjoy, and then sharing it (for free, there’s no charge for BMS 4.32!) with all of us, it really is beautiful in every sense. You guys rock.

Thanks Oliver for the tons of work!

Excellent! Thanks!

proof reading now:
page 14 probeheat “indicates a failure indicates a failure” -
page 16: engine will not starve with fuel flow off = syphoning.
AND additional: set to AFT syphoning prohibited from FWD and vice versa.
what i mean is: it is unclear if the opposite fuel side is completely cut off in AFT/FWD after reading page 16.

WOW! Redog, you are the man!
