Thousands of ppl using BMS and being happy with it. A handful of ppl screaming and kicking and being annoying.
Why would I care about that tiny number of poor sods that always will make anything bad? I really could not care less about them.
I care about the thousands of ppl who like BMS and appreciate it. And I draw my energy from these guys, and the positive energy they give back to me waaay outweighs the tiny spark of negative crybaby anger the the handful of attention-getters try to ignite.
Hence: I still laugh, shrug, and let them cry. Not anyones problem until you chose to make it one.

itās not limited to bms at all now.
People are a holesā¦. but look at all the people that support you and BMS. Itās easy to focus on the one dude thatās being negative, I know, I have a tendency to do that too. But instead try to focus on the people who love and support you (and BMS). And there are plenty of people out there. Plenty of people here have declared their love for BMS.

Kinda first post here, trying not to make it too long.
Iāve been following and having fun with BMS for a long time. All of that thanks to Devs that spend countless hours behind the keyboard.
As a dev myself (not BMS) and looking at some other older Falcon forks on GitHub, i can only imagine the effort it was to migrate the core engine to DX11!My experience in 4.35, as with all previous releases is amazing! i do have countless hours of fun thanks to all those developers (Core team and community) that spend free time doing this instead of being with their family, or doing some other stuff.
Sure enough there are things that we all wish to be better, but no matter what this will always be the case!
So, my message to the devs, We have your 6!
I do absolutely love your work, and releasing it FOC for all of us to enjoy is AMAZING!
Keep going, slow and steady, we will cover your 6!

One or two year ago I was asking for code support as a the Feature Request to be able to play different sound samples for the wind depending on its strength (could be applied to the rain also) ā¦ never get any response.
This is however VERY low prio ā¦ only on ground canopy open and no tactical interest.EDIT: in was on August 2017. I had one reply saying āIĀ“ll have a look and seeā ā¦ No news since then.

I assume that for denying rain in hangars, we can at some point create maps (simple textures, actually) that will mark stuff at different places. Can be then used for on/off of some features as well as some other parameters which I donāt know yet what exactly they can be.
Simple out of the head example:
Create for every AB a map (texture), say at minimal needed size, maybe 512 or 1024 will be enough
On that map, letās assume the Red channel will make on/off for rain in hangars, so we will prepare the Red channel this way where itāll be on everywhere and off in the hangar (e.g 255 on, 0 off)
Then in 3D world we can load the relevant texture per AB and sample that in rain shader when rain is generated, then if value is 0ff, donāt proceed with rain rendering (GPU pipeline will clip the pixel according to that value, or maybe later if more advanced techniques are used, then cut the rendering as soon as possible in the pipeline - e.g DX11 Geometry shader can be used to cull stuff)Of course a whole dedicated code will be necessary for such a method to work.

I feel you here. It happens all the time, from every side of the āfenceā, from every one. We must bear with it. I think there is a post where you say āWe canāt see everything you post, donāt blame us for missing somethingā, I donāt need to look for the date I supppose =).

Well ā¦ big work for minor benefits. Especially knowing that I am putting most parking point out of the hangars for the future version ā¦ so ā¦ does it worth the pain and the time (?)

From playing 4.35 so far, Iāve noticed some things that could be addressed:
- There is no explosion sound when my plane is hit. There used to be in 4.34 and prior.
- No briefing file is output despite being checked in the options. Debrief file is fine.
- AI may have been improved overall, but friendly AI are still completely useless. Perhaps worse than they were, but itās not possible to verify. In any case, they hardly seem to do anything. That goes both for my wingmen and other friendly flights.
- Random crashes at mission exit - this is the biggest one. There is no rhyme or reason, it just sometimes happens and sometimes not. I am not entering the 3D world twice and not even doing recons, but crashes still occur.

Normal. And/or depends on your sound slider setting. IRL you canāt hear your a/c hit nor hear the missile fragmentation.

Big work is a relative thing to how much details we aim to in the future. Also, such work can be done by many people and no necessarily those that do everything else
