Yet another update from the front lines..
-
Hello, folks, it has been a while!
Let’s talk about the next update, shall we?
When we released U2, we expected to have fixed the major bugs, which would have given us some peace to work on the next big release. But, unfortunately, we were wrong.
We had so many critical bugs fixed in U2, that we barely focused on gameplay bugs and other uncommon issues. Soon after U2 was released, we received CTD reports from visor, screenshots, sounds and also deadlocks. Those were actually simple fixes, but unfortunately, our extensive testing did not catch those.
As we were fixing those issues, we begin testing the game in a more human fashion: less automated tests, more people playing it for real. And then we found other issues: missing RWR spikes and launches, AI not evading missiles in MP, ATC not responding to traffic and so on.
So we decided to fix those as well, and do more testing. In the process, we also realized there was something very wrong with game colors and we decided to change that as well.
As a result, we had 2 full months of testing those fixes and features. I’m happy to say that we are now past the testing phase, so now it is only paperwork to get U3 out. In fact, we planned to have released it already, (maybe even together with new site) but as usual, there are some last minutes stuff that mess our schedule.
I truly hope U3 will be the last of 4.35 line, 4.36 is full of new surprises and is in the waiting line for a long time. Of course, all the fixes in U3 went to 4.36 as well, so we expect the next big version to be as stable as the previous one.
Personally, I’ve been doing a lot of MP with U3 twice a week (or even more) and have been enjoying it a lot. Hope you do as well!
Inbound for landing soon!

@Seifer @oakdesign Exactly. Thank you very much for that post, worth a million xmas promises. And I’m glad you found a new angle to assess things, probably helping you fill the gap between what you work on and what we feel.
Have a nice week-end.

@seifer Every project and more those that are carried and carried out with the heart, each victory and every setback are enjoyed.
We follow each process of this community step by step from far away in a Caribbean island but enjoying and taking advantage of this magnificent gem of code and simulation that is FALCON BMS.
We appreciate all the work of the team of developers and coders of FALCON BMS and with great enthusiasm we will wait for the UPDATE to U3 and when the time comes we will migrate to that new version that foresees surpassing all our expectations.
A big hug from the Caribbean.

Amazing dedication, thank you

Love the openness about the current situation. Thanks for that Seifer and Dev team. My virtual unit have, due to the reasons mentioned not made the transition to 4.35 and will not until 4.36 is out, so we are anxiously waiting for a stable platform that will come with 4.36. Looking forward to the day it will happen.
Cheers to all involved in the tremendous amount of work you put into this.

@nil I hope you guys reconsider the position after U3. 4.36 will still take a long while, and I would really appreciate some real feedback on U3 once it is out.

Your candor is massively appreciated.

Thanks for sharing this news!

Wow, this is great news. We had really annoying problems with the RWR in our MP events but, we never thought of the reason as update 2. Because I was sure that the changelog was all about bug fixes.
