Updating some 3d models for ground vehicles
-
@Betto I can see that in my TGP, right now…
-
@Quasi_Stellar it’s quite wasted to be seen only from the tgp, but we don’t care about anything and we graphically update everything we can! XD
-
@Betto Go Betto times 2!
-
We will see them up close too when they cross the runway. So keep those triangles coming !
-
@jayb XD
-
@Betto great job man!!! You have nice skills!! Can wait to see the Leopard 1!
-
@VDK i will sure model the leo 1 and the 2a6, currently working on the Sa-13

Take your time, you are doing a great job!
By the way… the Gepard also needs some attention, and the Gepard’s chassi is the same of Leo 1. Maybe you can put your magic to work with half of the effort done… what do you think?
Great job! Thanks!
-
@VDK yep didn’t think about it. it will definitely be done after the strela
-
@Betto oooo, the strela, lets see how you manage the details on the launcher(texture or tris )
-
And the Strela also finished successfully without exceeding 40k triangles, missing the final textures as always, will be done in the future and I can still add some details in the back if needed, stay tuned and let me know what vehicle i should do next!
-
@Betto top view with the possibility of adding way more details
-
@Betto i love your work! I think it will be nice to see the updated 2S4 mortar instead of the old 1998’ model.
Although it is strange that the DPRK has such monsters in F4, there are many battalions of them there.

@Betto said in Updating some 3d models for ground vehicles:
The 2S1 is complete, obviously missing the more refined textures (dirt, rust) which will be added to everyone when I reach a number of complete vehicles that satisfies me. Having said this, the 2S1 is the first tank that currently meets the BMS requirements for the number of triangles which are currently 39k, enjoy!!
Very nice work!
39K tris is a pretty much a lot for a ground vehicle in BMS, but if it can be optimized a bit and of course come with an aggressive tris reduction for lower LODs, it can be practical to include it in BMS DB. Thanx for the work! -
yes the 2S4 needs hi-quality model.
just a reminder : when it is ready for fire, the deployed gun barrel/ rear end of vehicle should face at target. it needs Xswitch to reproduce it. -
What LOD is considered to the TGP / AGM seeker images?

What LOD is considered to the TGP / AGM seeker images?
Depending. TGP/IR picture isn’t different than a 3D scene render, so what decides the LOD level is the zoom and generally the size of the object relative to the entire picture. When you zoom in with the TGP you can clearly see LODs changing, I even fixed a bug once related to bad polarity in TGP due to lowest LODs creating issues.

M60, Leo1, Gepard, M48
-
@VDK The M60 is already done, gepard is probably gonna be the next one in the line!
