Whaaat? That is interesting, I can’t see them on my notebook or my station. I only get the flickr placeholder saying “this picture is unavailable” so the link to flickr is working in the browser, just flickr doesn’t link to my images.
I don’t get it…but good know ya’ll can see my pics
Thanks!
Pete, I can see all your pics fine, … at least those you’ve posted in this thread.
… maybe they’re just not visible in your browser?
Ohh, and nice work on the skins once again.

What is the new nice feature?
-
I like the POV angle you’ve chosen, it should make carrier landing somewhat easier
BTW, did you get my mail? -

A video would have been better.

Looks good – the windshield frame and mirrors could use some more details though; also, I still don´t understand why you are putting this fake HUD in an otherwise accurate cockpit…. what´s wrong with projecting the HUD display on the windshield like it was in reality?
-
I think the B model saw the 2nd HUD in RL as upgrade.
With all respect, plus one on windshield frame and mirrors.Rest cool! Not that I ever made any mesh in RL, so feel free to ignore me! Looking forward to it.
(We had a saying at FF for guys like me who put criticism and a compliment in one line: A backhanded compliment lol. You have to excuse, atm I enjoy a friend making the most accurate mesh upgrades for old pits at IL-2 and so I am spoiled.)
:drink:
Cheers, way better than the old pit. -
Nice job, this looks really good. Can’t wait to give this a try.

Cheers, way better than the old pit.I think we need a bit of clarification here. The 2nd HUD Nizmo is referring to is the actually a HUD repeater type correct on one of the MFDs. The F-14A and B front office showed the VSI and then the HSI( interceptor driver’s dream info). That’s the HUD Nizmo is referring to- he’s beating the Falcon engine limitations by using a HUD repeater overlay in the “VSI” MFD to help simulate an F-14. The one Crazytom is referring to is the glass HUD, and yes the Sparrowhawk glass HUD was an F-14B upgrade in the later 90s ( 1998 I think?) that actually gave the F-14B a HUD with symbology like the F-14D only bigger. The factory F-14A and F-14A+(F-14B) were all delivered to the fleet with the original projection on the forward windscreen instead of an actual HUD correct?
SO CrazyTom, I think you’re referring to something completely different then what Nizmo is referring to in the picture, which is awesome BTW, and melted my face off. -

If you do some research on the B+ pit, you will see that my HUD is 100% exact to it. This is not the F-14A model.

Sorry to be a pain in the ass but no! I know very well about the differences between A and B model cockpits. And I also know about the differences between a B and B+ cockpit…
The upgraded B+ cockpit with the Sparrowhawk HUD looks like this: http://www.arcair.com/awa02/1001-1100/walk1054-F-14-Hall/11.jpg
Notice there are major differences on the ACMI panel (actually the panel has been replaced by the HUD hardware, except for the master arm and ACM switches) and the VDI (missle/gun status indicators were moved from the ACMI panel to the right side of the VDI display) compared to an older B model cockpit.
Your cockpit is essentially a hybrid between an (older) B cockpit and a 50% complete Sparrowhawk HUD (since your missing the lower 50 % with the hardware where the HUD camera is attached to).

He may be right guys. I spent some time this afternoon looking at photos from F-14 pits, and most that feature the “curved” panel, are wither not wide enough to include the HUD itself, or when wide enough, they actually fit the old pre-Sparrowhawk HUDs. I’ll try to look into it some more…

Can’t wait to try this cockpit ACM with trackIR. I’m sure the immersion is completely different.

Stunning, absolutely stunning. Hats off to you and your team Nizmo. The attention to detail in your model is unbelievable; perfectly working flight controls including the roll spoilers along with the red paint behind their surfaces. The gear movement is 100% authentic with properly operating doors. Then there is the pit that is hands down better than any previous simulation. Fleet Defender’s Cat never looked as good as yours:D
BTW, I might as well ask the unanswerable question everybody else wants to know: has it been 2 to 3 weeks yet?
