BMS 4.34 Documents correction report

Please use this single topic if you want to report errors in the manuals
If possible state in bold the manual and the chapter and page number and eventually identify the error in quotes

BMS training manualMission 1 Ground ops
To test proper EPU operation first cycle the EPU to OFF and back to NORM. With the mouse make sure you use a left-click to move it from NORM to OFF; a right-click would engage the EPU (now un-safed) which is to be avoided on the ground. The real reason is of no significance to us; hydrazine is extremely toxic.
They should be reversed, as a left click actually triggers the EPU.

Original
“And as seen on the comm section of the briefing, our assigned VHF frequency is 141.125 and the corresponding preset is displayed within brackets [17]. Therefore at ramp start, you must initiate radio contact on VHF preset #17 or 141.125.”
Change -> VHF Preset frequency should be 142.125 to correspond to the picture above text

1.1.2.1 Master Mode Selection and Control pag. 21Pressing the Emergency Jettison button on the landing gear panel will command jettison of all air-to-ground stores while retaining all air-to-air weapons and pods.
Not strictly an error but shouldn’t fuel tanks be mentioned?

1.2.1 Steerpoints pag 23STPT 55 seems to be missing in Table 2

I’m doing the first training mission. I’m at the part of testing the EPU.The manual states:
To test proper EPU operation first cycle the EPU to OFF and back to NORM. With the mouse make sure you use a left-click to move it from NORM to OFF; a right-click would engage the EPU (now un-safed) which is to be avoided on the ground. The real reason is of no significance to us; hydrazine is extremely toxic.
I found that left clicking moves the EPU switch to on and left clicking moves the switch to off. I’ve done nothing to my mouse to make it behave inverted.
fwiw.

Thanks for reporting, this one has already been spotted though so no points this time: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?35681-BMS-4-34-Documents-correction-report&p=495307&viewfull=1#post495307
Keep looking though, I’m sure there are more out there to be found :thumb:

Will format post when I get a chance.

Sorry - should have done a search first.
Any prize for second place (besides steak knives that is)?

I think that’s the same issue as in post 2

@Red:
Thanks

Doh, my bad. I saw something about colours and concluded it was a different matter. I can’t see the picture clearly on my phone. Sorry
Awesome docs as usual. I read for the pleasure of staying in touch with 4.34 while away from the comp.

To introduce a little pint of humor here, it’s very fortunate that the tabs names were changed…
Otherwise, the first minute of this video would have been a premonition of 4.34 in 4.33

Hmm…. Do all these errors mean I shoulda held off on ordering the manuals from Lulu :scared:
I just blew almost £180 !

Never. They’re collector now.

Should the manual be 2 pages, maybe
buth here so far we have about 5-6 errors in more than 1500 pages, and I’d say quite not so important errors.
So you’re fine. The manuals won’t be corrected for a while anyway -

MFDS LFWD FAIL = Right MFD inoperativeThese two need to be swapped:)

checklists
The page numbering of the checklists appears to no longer start at 0. This change makes it hard to print just the changed pages, although with how much has changed it’s not really a problem. Hopefully page counts can remain 1 indexed in future updates, especially if the changes are only to a few pages, to ease reprinting
The table of contents doesn’t match up with the page numbers, for example, “Checklists Main Volume” contents has “Verify Checks” on page 2, they’re now on page 3. Also, it no longer shows page as 1/16, 2/16 etc just 1, 2…
