Dev team, I thank you for all you do for this, the BEST of all combat flight sims on the civilian market.
I would like to ask, if there is a āfuture release wish listā topic, where might I find it? Iād certainly like to read it. Iām sure that some suggestions I would have are probably already there.
I have DCS in addition to BMS and DCS is great for eye candy but their F-16C package doesnāt fly right. Honestly when I get in the jet and fly it, it feels like a slug. In BMS it comes alive.
I might as well write up my wish list right here, not knowing where else to put it.
Fix the rotating clouds.
Update the crash fire so itās not a 2D poster seen in a 3D world.
Add VR support.
Add the F-16V Block 70 Viper. Thatās a big one. I know itād take a lot to implement it.
Update the menu screens to look a little less ālate 90sā. The menu UI is the most dated part of BMS that remains from Falcon 4.0.
Iām missing some of my favorite training TEs, such as the head on merge. For a while in years past I was getting scary good at making gun kills in the head on merge. Iād like for all the original training missions to be incorporated into the current list.
Iād like for all the training missions and TEs to feature a simple system for selecting the aircraft type, variant, and skin to fly with. If I want to fly the flameout landing training mission with an aggressor skin, I should be able to pick it easily. And why not set it up so that I can fly all the missions in any flyable aircraft? If you put forth the effort to make other aircraft flyable, why not extend that to allow us to start any mission or training engagement with first, aircraft type selection, second, version selection, and third, skin selection?
I must note that the cockpit is TOO DARK. In general, the visuals in BMS are too darkā¦ It should be brighter, at least during daylight missions. Itās like flying with the dark visor down on the helmet at all times.
Remember, not all of us are in our 20s anymore. Making some allowances for eyes that arenāt quite as sharp as they were 20 or 30 years ago wouldnāt be a terrible idea.

We donāt do wish lists but you can always ask nicely
I might as well write up my wish list right here, not knowing where else to put it.
Fix the rotating clouds.
Already fixed but as long as we have 2D clouds, not much we can doā¦
We actually made it better but we canāt fix rotation from some anglesā¦Update the crash fire so itās not a 2D poster seen in a 3D world.
Will be better in the future releases (canāt remember if already there in 4.36)
Add VR support.
Sure already planedā¦

Impossible, no publicly available documentation on itā¦

We would love to but the implication of UI change is greater than what people thinkā¦

Why donāt you do your own TE?
BMS still will focus on the F-16 but feel free to mod whatever you want.I must note that the cockpit is TOO DARK. In general, the visuals in BMS are too darkā¦ It should be brighter, at least during daylight missions. Itās like flying with the dark visor down on the helmet at all times.
4.35 U3 is already better but no improvements to be expected in 4.35ā¦
Wait for 4.36 and seeā¦Remember, not all of us are in our 20s anymore. Making some allowances for eyes that arenāt quite as sharp as they were 20 or 30 years ago wouldnāt be a terrible idea.
LOL do you think that we devs are young guys???
Cheers

Fix the rotating clouds.
Try adding
set g_nCloudRotatingMethod 1 // "face camera position" (as opp. to "camera direction")
to your cfg file.Itās not perfect but I prefer this setting, which prevents the swirling-effect as you look around. (Instead you get a swirling effect as you pass through/near a cloudā¦ but that seems less unrealistic.)

@buzzbomb
I guess you really use the visor so this is why so dark. -
I also want to note that when using a head tracker, moving your head closer to the screen acts as a zoom for EVERYTHING even at a great distance, which is convenient for getting a free telescopic view of another aircraft or airfield, but itās hardly correct. The zoom-in effect should of course be limited to having a significant effect within the cockpit.

Use
Zaxis instead of FOV in your UI advanced setup
