@Radium The textures are very intriguing - especially the level of detail changes at distance. Not many yellow wheat fields in the final version of Falcon.
@Snake122 it’s from a Strategy Plus pc gaming mag from 1997. The scans are on archive.org in very very high res.

AFAIK eFalcon made it for the first time for Falcon 4.0. Eventually, the SuperPak series introduced the great ramp start trainer executable linked by @Reaperdog1 above. The eFalcon 1.10 manual is still available and its changelog [pp. 99] refers to the “three-state starting condition” (including ramp start) having been incorporated for eFalcon 1.09 which was released in 2001 (dates available on the F4 history chart).
Edit: added the release year of eFalcon 1.09.
