Are we talking “don’t hold your breath” yet or “4.38” yet?
Can you hold your breath “two weeks”?

Pimax Crystal could also take advantage of OpenXR for DFR, I think the Quest Pro can too. I believe @chihirobelmo is the main VR coder for BMS or at least was. He’s pretty busy with the Launcher post U3 I would assume.
If it was someone’s passion project, they could join BMS and add OpenXR. It might also have a jump in performance without DFR even and would add possibility support for other things, especially in my book PointCTRL. But no one in BMS here has publicly stated that they plan to add OpenXR, so don’t hold your breath stage, would be lucky for first 4.38 release would be my guess if someone joined today to do it.

Might be worth contacting Mbucchia on the Varjo Discord to see if he is interested in helping move BMS OpenXR forward (IF it isn’t already being done by someone) , worst case he (or BMS) says no…

Slightly old topic but for foviated rendering to work with BMS, is only OpenXR required or does it require code changes in the game to support it?

Fairly certain to be functional it has to be incorporated into the game…

@Icer
That‘s interesting. Picos new PCVR streaming software (Pico Connect) has fixed foveated rendering (at least it looks like that). -
