Ff you could have one thing in the next update it would be…

First you must distinguish between the different type of Jamming Action, not the Jammer its self because focusing on the hardware isnt actually what explains how that works.
Sure. But, a lot of F-16s carry jammers which are not programmable. Most -131s have to have hardware changes to accomodate changes to operational usage. So asking whether all jammers work that way, the answer is still that it depends.
Good post though. Breaking it out into separate paragraphs would improve readability.
I’m curious about say 2000-era ALQ-184 on F-16 as employed in Korea how much of jamming is preemptive versus reactive. Would an F-16 as it appears in BMS with jammer enabled be yelling its head off in minimal radar threat environment?
Not having flown any F-16, let alone one deployed to Korea in the year 2000, Im still only going by OSINT.
I would hazard the guess that no, the ALQ-184 is designed for repeater jamming, so its not going to be doing much at all until it detects EW that it classifies as a threat.

datalink ground target from AI flight leads would help big time for new pilots.

I’ve always wondered if the real F-16 has DL FCR marks shown in the expanded modes for the recipient. That would be very helpful. Right now you only see the * in the standard display and don’t see it in any of the EXPs.

i’d like trackIR to work in the HUD only view, as well as being able to put the the RMFD LMFD and RWR at the bottom of the screen. I really like the 3d pit don’t get me wrong, but I’m teaching my kids both to fly and it’s hard for them to focus outside of the hud only view. I also find this view incredibly immersive, as in I really relax and feel like part of the sky. Also, as per gameplay, a feature view like this could be added to the JSF in bms to simulate the HMCS extended modes. I know it’s a big ask and might not jive with most. Someone told me there is a way to make trackIR work in hud only, but I don’t understand how to do those edits, and I don’t like to tinker too much. Once I tried to change a wing model and I ended up birkcing my sim so I don’t do that anymore. Just woke up, was drinking my coffee but to fly some missions just had a thought.
Happy Sunday gentleman.

Just an idea , a playable AWACS for multiplayer.
I dont know if its possible to implement a 360 degrees radar with some IFF function , it would be awesome to “request picture” to a human player with BRA calls.

F4AWACS tool what is you need.

i’d like trackIR to work in the HUD only view
let’s think about that for a minute
if you’re able to look around in a HUD only view, shouldn’t we first rename that view, because obviously it’s not going to be a hud only view anymoreThen what would you see as you pan around the hud, let’s say 5 o clock low? Would you
1. have an unrestricted view of what’s there or
2. would you have a black hole for the cockpit contour or
3. would you see the cockpitin the first case, that wouldn’t be very realistic and i’d even dare call it a cheat
in the second case, it’s a view we already have and it’s called the no cockpit view, especially made for pit builders and accessible with a keystroke
in the third case, it’s called the 3D pit viewhope that explains why that request always falls in a deaf ear

I also found this… could be interesting for actually fly the plane and do the Awacs job.

X_Tech ? Is that a new tool for AWAC?

was that the logic in not including the MFDS anymore in HUD only view? are labels a cheat? make it a checkbox in the GUI or the configurator if that is the logic. Many sims, as well as games have that option. To me, and I’m only one man, it seems like you thought about it long enough to think about 3 reasons not to do it. Who is taking score? cheating is for elections.

So why dont you add them back in, BMS devs gave you the tools already to do it.
From the launcher, Cockpit Display Extraction, turn on the L and R MFDs, make them always on top of other windows and fix their position.

I’d Love a better controls key binding UI, Just like the same as F4 AF, You set the buttom, Then a mesage appears, Telling the previous action of the key.
That would make the config for newbies more easy. -
I’d like a dev to add them to HUD view only and enable trackIR, I don’t goof with your code.

Check in manuals and search for “Empty Shell”.

That’s what I told him Dj,
and BW gave him the solution for his MFD trickSo he’s been pointed to solutions for all he wants, it’s all there already implemented
he doesn’t even want to go and look, all he wants is for other to work at his place, and the default to be what he likes regardless of what the other users wants so he doesn’t have to mess with settings
He’ll get the message eventually -

well I goofed with the extractors and all that, suffice it to say, this is not anywhere close to what it would need to be to be usable for my wants. The resolution of many of the displays is very low, and I think for it to be useful, they would have to be transparent.
I’m not trying to be all “gimme gimme” this is a wants thread. I think for it to be useful, the steerpoints from the HSD and the FCR would need to be a transparency against the sky and they would need to be the same color as the hud text. borderless was a bit better but I didn’t think about losing parts of the sky because of the black background. I still think it would be a cool feature in a future update.

For what purpose exactly? … I mean, what can’t you do with current implementation?
… etc …
I personally think there are MUCH more valuable to do with the limited amount of resources.

I think if the virtual cockpit view had a RWR in the top right corner, the LMFD in the bottom left and the RMFD in the in the bottom right. I just really enjoy this view, there is no plane or cockpit in the way and you have six degrees of freedom to look around and enjoy flying, plus all your sensor information is there. The purpose being, it is incredibly immersive in my opinion and it could even be a bootleg version of the HMSS extended FOV of the JSF and some of the advanced 5th generation stuff.
I just think it’s a cool view, even if simply the trackIR would leave the hud centered and track around in the air, that would be cool too. empty shell has the cockpit still, i’m talking about floating in space, invisible jet style.

Well I cant help you with transparency, but you can up the resolution as you like…

You can do that, too.
