Can you Slave the HTS?
-
I don’t know if 4.33.2, it depends, if not then only in the release that will come afterwards.
But first I need to code it, so for now it’s nowhere, actually
3-4 weeks right?

I never use the HTS to deploy the HARM rather use the HTS to get range and bearing info then use the HARM in POS mode by slewing the SPI to the bearing and extending it to the appropriate mileage give or take 2-3 miles. Its still very accurate. Is there maybe even a remote chance the HAS could be used to give the pilot an idea as to the range of the emitter ??

Interesting, I’ll try that. I mainly use the standard HAS mode, though I forget the name.

Thats the HTS pod

I’m not so sure… HAS is HARM As Sensor, so you don’t even need the HTS to deploy them. Are you thinking of the HAD which does require HTS?
EDIT: I appear to have gotten my terminology mixed up but I don’t think I was wrong as such. I was talking about POS mode, which is using the HARM as the sensing equipment, but there is also separate HAS mode.
-
So are there any chances for HTS geolocation and link 16 in future?
Would be another very cool thing! -

Yea you right, he confused a bit…
HAS = HARM self mode
HAD = HTS pod displaySo are there any chances for HTS geolocation and link 16 in future?
Would be another very cool thing!Everything is possible and doable, but as usual it’s all about priorities and time.I can tell you that currently this isn’t in the plans.

I remember one guy on YouTube saying that has mode fovs are somewhat range dependent. He said that wide was 60 miles center was 40 and left and right being 40 also. I don’t know how much truth there is behind it but I’ve had some success in hitting emitters using has as reference then firing in pos.

Yes this is correct. They’re commonly called TGP CAPs: TMS AFT, Cursor Zero, Wide FOV.
It’s actually not an OSB press but a double TMS AFT that will CZ for you. All hands on.
I have some more information on that. Per the real -34 it is just a single TMS DOWN. When I get to a place where I can pull it and quote it, I’ll put it in this post. You can also press CZ on the MFD…aka Hand off throttle and stick controls
-
It depends on the software tape.
Older tapes: single TMS aft to break track, then CZ OSB.
Newer tape: double TMS aft to break track and CZSingle TMS aft isn’t ever going to CZ as far as I’m aware. Edit: apparently it will.
And then lastly theres a GBU-39 sub mode that automatically CZs for as long as you’re in that mode but returns any slew when you leave it again.

Here is the link to the video I was talking about, the guy was doing a tutorial on the HAS mode of the weapon and he further went on and broke down the different ranges with the different FOV mode you use in HAS
I’ve tried this since I re-heard the information and I must say that it is pretty accurate. I’d rather use HAS then HTS because in real life the HTS Pod can only see in 120 degree FOV and in BMS HAS is 120 degree FOV. Plus you don’t get an emitter color code on HAS mode that you do with the HTS in BMS. IRL the HTS doesn’t do it.

Regarding the CZ with TMS-AFT, just to make sure: Is it a second time TMS-AFT? or is it a double TMS-AFT only that will trigger CZ? double AFAIK usually means 2x < 0.5 second

Sorry the double TMS AFT will return to Slave mode (drop the track) AND CZ. If not in a track mode, then a single TMS AFT will CZ. So one TMS AFT to drop the track and one TMS AFT to CZ. Sorry if that was confusing.

Thanx and NP!

HAS = HARM as a Sensor
HAD = HARM Attack Display (I.E. what the HTS pod sees)You want to shoot off the HAD. BMS is not accurately modeled (especially the HAD).

At least not like it should be. What a shame. F-16=Wild Weasel in my book.

Sorry I’m being a bit dumb; maybe I’m still asleep. By “shoot off the HAD”, do you mean use that to deploy it, or shoot it off metaphorically by not using that method?
