Well, real weaponeering is kind of like “Okay, if the target closely enough resembles other similar objects we know well, that weapon with that fuzing and that delivery method should be sufficient to exert the kind of damage we want to deal.” Experience and previous tests help a lot, but it comes with assumptions, and sometimes the end result is not what was expected, especially if the target is not a common target or it is set in an unusual environment.
On the other hand “The target has 100 health points so I need 4 missiles dealing at least 25 damage points to destroy it.” doesn’t come with any assumption, and is what a game can be.
So we’d need a file that would use the accurate game figures to know what can destroy what without making the actual figures available, if we want to keep it somewhat “real”.
