I also think that track is given in true (not magnetic) but I’m not sure about that. I’ll look out for distant track calls giving a numeral direction in future, sounds interesting and perhaps helpful to know what distance that changeover occurs.
Does anyone know what “northwest” group refers to re: center? Is it bullseye or recipient or just a general description relative to other groups in a multi-group picture?
In BMS, all tracks are true. Magnetic declination is not implemented at present.
Northwest as a group ID means relative to the picture, so basically relative to other groups. A northwest group and a southeast group (probably unlikely labels unless there is a third group) have those cardinal directions relative to each other. “Northwest group” is not necessarily northwest of bullseye, or the recipient of the call - but they will be northwest of the picture.
