I may be the only one

The blue roofs were the first thing many of us noticed when Polak’s tiles were integrated and I really didn’t care for them either. Then I had occasion to check the Kunsan/Gunsan area on Google Earth and was amazed to discover there really are blue roofs all over South Korea.
As mentioned above Polak’s tiles are amazingly accurate considering the limitations of the Falcon graphics engine. Yes, you will pay the price with fps, but great views always cost extra
Now I also really liked the look of FLARE and the work the guys who worked on it did was outstanding, but it was nowhere near as ready for release as Polak’s tiles and probably less realistic when you compare the actual aerial shots of Korea.
Enjoy what we have. Kudus to both teams who put an unbelievable amount of time into their work and deserve recognition.

I really like the new terrain it just needs a bit of getting used to, to be honest when I first saw it although the improvements are obvious I wasn’t entirely sure about the overall look but it grew on me pretty quickly, the only slightly disappointing visual feature in 4.33 are the old stock clouds.

We are all attuned to positive criticism as long as this can lead to further improvements.
My only hope for the terrain right now is there is more work to be done on the night tileset - perhaps I see it wrong, but at night the farmland positively glows, and when comparing day vs. night tiles in PS I get the feeling the night tiles are not fully in tune with the day ones. Fields and minor roads are illuminated when main roads are not, etc. especially in the HFARMD sets, and similar.
Other than that, a sterling job, IMHO.

Only troll here is you, i have played falcon series from early 90’s and will play in future too.
Critic is not trolling.
Yea, I remember Haukka and Mower from Frugals World over a decade ago - or more. Not trolls at all actually, but good guys.
Anyhow, the terrain is leaps and bounds better than it was. Love it. We can’t expect DCS terrain with F4, it ain’t got the internal guts to pull it off. This sim came out in 1998, and here almost 20-years later thanks to FF, OF, and now BMS.
That’s my $0.02 worth.
Good day,
DrDetroit

Enough about trolls people. That’s name calling and that’s against the rules.

Just for the record - I would give you that $100 bill per copy

BMS new tiles are way better than this RL professional simulator at xx.xxx.xxx €

Perhaps you know that night tiles are done pretty much automatically and I do not have too much control over them. Perhaps post editing tile by tile is possible, but most of my recent time was spent on making sure that all editing of areas and paths etc. was correct and continuous, tree autogen seamless (tricky!) and that airbases and their approaches free of trees.
Believe or not, tiles were ready approx. 2 years ago - so for faults blame my inexperience !BTW, full credit for creating/programming Tree Autogen as well as environmental mapping and other wonderful programming wizardry belongs to Blueprint. He is to be REALLY thanked for most of the visual improvements. I was just a “finger painter”.

Just for the record - When/if we will make a new terrain, you will get it for free

Now terrain looks great ,it can always be better but what’s the argument?
There will always be a few dcs trolls as haukka or mower who will complain, ignore.LMFAO…I’m a “DCS troll”…okay.
-
i feel the same
i find some bms users very disapointing compared to DCS ones.
at DCS they pay hundreds of € for a POS and dint even complain,
Easy, brother.
Or has BMS become a fan boy zone where only complimentary remarks are permitted (like DCS forums?).
BTW not sure how you think DCSW is a POS. Some major Falcon community players think otherwise…

Well to fair, on the positive…
The terrain IS better, approaching what FSX can give. So it is better.
The aircraft models are much better, the Viper is gorgeous
Enabling SPI support very much appreciated.
Documentation is excellent.Well done.

You are making positive statements about a sim without using the word p0rn?
What’s wrong with you?

Oh some nasty surprises in airman ship now.
-
I don’t know much about FLARE but if it even a chance it is better than Polak’s tiles it must be something. I thought Tom’s Korea was so much better than 4.32 stock but Polak’s are so much better.

I knew I could read these things after the release.
The only thing I feel in these hours it’s after 1600 hours of flights with falcon I am a completely noob about the new avionics system and all the new stuffs like the realistic ladd bomb or the new and realistic maverick tgp use. And someone can tell “once you learn to play instruments…”
I can’t really understand you guys sometimes.Realistic LADD mode? This is implemented now? I thought the training manual said otherwise… guess Ill have to check it again!
