I may be the only one

My favorite ground texture feature so far is the noise they add in when you get close to the ground. It is awesome! It is exactly what they did with EECH and really helps low level flight feel faster and easier to judge distance to the ground.
-
Blue houses is Korean view, it’s realistic, you can look for pictures in GE.
Yea… gimme 10-15 full time C++ and DX devs and I’ll give you new kickass terrain engine (but not without a 100$ bill per copy )
Color is not problem, you don’t understand what i mean.
Problem is that those Blue houses (and other details) are painted in ground
-
I, too, find the terrain in BMS very disappointing relative to DCSW’s.
But that is not BMS Crew’s fault.
i feel the same
i find some bms users very disapointing compared to DCS ones.
at DCS they pay hundreds of € for a POS and dint even complain,

building autogen is possivle but will cost more fps.

That would be great.
Are there anyway to get trees to solid btw? I can fly trough those for now

not really possible.
detecting ground type in the fm loop would cost more fps besides it would mean possible collision in between trees.
therefore we made the choice to not make collision on that level since bms is not a heli sim
-
I did not check it yet, but is the tree model stored in database ?… and is it editable?
I always hoped it will not be harcoded when finally activated…
-
Polak tiles are the best ones for Korea right now. Great quality and a close match with reality. Just check the general Gunsan area to get convinced. Flare’s tiles was a big disappointment IMHO. Nothing great. Hence, live with what you get atm.

I agree, collision is not critical for fighter jet sim
And i don’t wanna sound that im not happy with 4.33 , even with those ground textures its still huge step forward and my favorite sim again.
Dcs terrain is quite nice but i cant fly it much because no dc campaing system or any feeling that my mission has anything impact to next.
So my only choice is falcon BMS and thats why i really wish that terrain would get better. Flare looked nice , it was nice least those old screen shots. (Less 2d houses etc details in terrain)
But i will live and play what we have for now
Thank you All.
-
Now terrain looks great ,it can always be better but what’s the argument?
There will always be a few dcs trolls as haukka or mower who will complain, ignore. -

There will always be a few dcs trolls as haukka or mower who will complain, ignore.Only troll here is you, i have played falcon series from early 90’s and will play in future too.
Critic is not trolling.

with all the cockpit work i doubt u’ll have the chance for sight seeing
Nah, once you learn to play the instruments, there’s plenty of time for site seeing…I do most of my flying and weaponeering without even thinking about it. the virtual jet is indeed an extension of myself when I fly now.
-
but low alt is mess, so much painted details like houses everywhere
IMHO, if you want to be the squadron air-2-ground super hero, use your new TFR and FLIR, get down to 100ft at deep night and bad weather at 5k knots, and use routes away from civilian structures to reach your beer-target. With all these prerequisites I guarantee you that you’ll not be able to trace or have time to think about “messed details”… And on last think, enjoy what you have atm cause in the rl world multi-million simulators some of these details they do not even exist as an idea, and they do have countless hi-badget C++ and DX devs and coders…

Read my posts again, i get feeling that you dont understand that i REALLY LIKE FALCON BMS
I play it always when i have time.
But i don’t mean that i don’t have anything to critic.
Once more to be sure : I LOVE FALCON BMS
-
But i don’t mean that i don’t have anything to critic.
Yeah, criticism is fun to have and I welcome it. Not that I really bothered, what you say against my work and I knew long before, that you wouldn’t be a fan.
Problem with houses painted on terrain textures are that there are no houses. They are fake. Some day …who knows maybe.
For now… clean textures are : in winter, at night and in Falcon3. -

I like to use lots of ccip and mk-20s and mk-83’s so i need to go low and its sometimes make me wish that i could see targets better. Those painted flat details make it bit hard, its not new problem its always been limit of falcon engine , 3D buildings are not possible yet and i know that some pilots dont like empty green terrain so detail is painted in terrain.

I knew I could read these things after the release.
The only thing I feel in these hours it’s after 1600 hours of flights with falcon I am a completely noob about the new avionics system and all the new stuffs like the realistic ladd bomb or the new and realistic maverick tgp use. And someone can tell “once you learn to play instruments…”
I can’t really understand you guys sometimes. -

Mwhahaha, Mower you’re killing me
If you ever fly for real, remind me never to fly in the same aircraft as you. That amount of self confidence (i’d call it something else, but I’m being polite) is dangerous
If you can do that with BMS 4.33 right now. I know you’re only using 10% of the capabilities of the jetHaukka,
We needed to take decisions perfectly knowing that they wouldn’t suit everyone. We chose the best compromise and we believe we made the right ones.
Sorry you don’t like it, but short of launching yourself on your own in the same kind of huge task Polak did - you’ll have to learn to live with it. -
@Red:

Gimme a few days to step in some training hops with 4.33 and we will see, brother.

Guys, and Haukka especially. You need to understand that what Polak did with the current Falcon terrain engine limitations is not anything less than AMAZING. FWIW you need to understand that we gave up FLARE (which use 2048 textures!) for Polak’s work because it’s so unique and simply, well… AMAZING, I don’t have any other word to describe it. The limitations are with the current engine, we all know that it’s a limitation but there is nothing to do about it for now, that’s the best we can have with the current limited engine.
the virtual jet is indeed an extension of myself when I fly now.
Nice statement
