Ff you could have one thing in the next update it would be…

I for one, would be happy seeing the already improved NAVOPS develop further with an IFLOLS that you can see. It works but can’t be seen on my monitor. That, or an LSO sending us corrections.
-
Well this is me being a kiss-ass…:D
But I just read all 20 pages and the “wants” were pretty obscure overall. I’m not dissing what others think is important. It just that nothing in the preceding pages slapped you in the face, screaming “I can’t believe these guys released this thing without addressing this first!!!” Nice job guys. This update has been every bit as much a pleasant surprise as was BMS 4.32. Thank you!
And just to wipe away some of my kiss-ass-ness, +1 on drogue refueling. When this update came out I tossed up an A-6 just in case the guys threw in an Easter Egg. I pulled up tight and could see the nicely modeled retracted AR kit. After the 3rd “Unable” reply from “Texaco” I shot it down. It still feel bad about that

I would like to see:
-Auto HTML Generation for Mission Briefings to a controllable Location
-Auto HTML Weather Report Generation to a contrallable locationI think it would be really cool to have these auto write to a directory and then have thirty party software to upload them to the web so you could check flight schedules and weather reports before you even open up the sim.

To be honest I feel exactly the same when reading those kind of threads
Throwing away ideas to implement is pretty much the easiest thing anyone can do. In-house, ideas of features to implement are not a scarce resource at all. But having the idea is 1% - the 99% remaining has to be done by competent developers, who have a life outside of BMS.
All in all, ask not what BMS can do for you, ask what you can do for BMS And there is plenty to do as a public user : 3D models, tutorial videos, decent bug reports with repro cases, external tools such as this one, etc.

I “feel you” I3, and if there is anything I else I can do to support our community, just let me know. Anyone who has read my posts know how much I value BMS.
I view these threads as an example of “two heads are better then one”, and what can we do to make this even better? For example, enabling F/A-18’s in campaigns? -
So when is 4.34 coming out? 2 weeks?

I would really like to see windowed mode with the ability to treat BMS as any other windowed program (i.e. tab in and out wihtout mouse pointer desync, and repositioning the window on-screen). Being able to use manuals and other utilities on my other screen while monitoring my flight is invaluable to me.
-
Well the only issue with it at the moment is the mouse cursor being displayed, and there is a workaround for that, so one could assume that there could be a fix made for it at some point.

use, -window in launcher shortcut

Even if I’m totally in love with 4.33 (except snowplow markpoint nighmare ) I’d love a complete User Interface rebuild.
Using windows standards and integrating now quasi official addons like mission commander weapon delivery planner weather control etc….
Thanks again for your wonderfull work !

…which is documented in the BMS-Manual, BTW, section 3.2.4

I know drogue refuelling is not exactly a major issue, but it would really help immersion on carrier ops. That and what if you declared an emergency and a barrier went up (something in the code that guarantees a trap?)

-window does not seem to work for me, but I have 3 monitors so maybe that the reason.
On my wishlist for the next update. I am a +1 for a IFF system to be done. I did read all pages in this post and see that it is a pretty complex undertaking. What I like about it most is the SA upgrade in real time. It representing another tool in the tool box of the F16.
Without a AWACS the value seems obvious, but with AWACS how would it change the ROE procedures?
Here comes my 2cents on the topic.
Not knowing the code and the structure, why cant you create a table of all squawk codes in different stages True/False/On/Off/etc., then compare it to a table of missions with each mission set having sets of general mission safe parameters defined, thus triggering different responses based on mission safe parameters, that lead to Offensive/Def/neutral stay/neutral Off/neutral Def/etc. Example on a sweep mission if the IFF interrogation is FOE or unknown and the bogey is within the defined mission safe parameters then the AI will go to any of these neutral stay/neutral Offensive/neutral Def/. In a case where bogey is conflicting with the mission safe parameters Offensive/Def. It most be harder then this but thought I would try to help anyway I could.
A second thing I would like to see is the airdrome us the charts, add another selection to the Tower Commands/Request ATC Use Charts. but that’s the easy part

Thanks, but that does not improve anything for me. I can’t reposition the windows as I would like, and the mouse desyncs after alt-tab.
-
The mouse resyncs after Ctrl+Alt+Del, and you can freely adjust the window position with the Cockpit Display Extraction menu, IIRC.

… You guys (many of you), are still forgetting that, when air superiority and is not achived, IFF is switched off beyond the FLOT. If IFF is implemented one day, it will follow this NATO ops procedure rule and IA will not reply after passing the SWITCH OFF line.
So, (again) if one day, IFF is implemented in BMS, do not expect more SA (except over friendly area). And not all a/c will be equiped anyway.

THANK YOU! This should be printed with red bold text on everything! I’m a happy camper now.
-
how about more accurate cockpits for the F-16A and its siblings?

…I don’t know what “NATOPS” you’re reading…I just hope IFF happens…and that it happens realistically - at least for the F-16 case.

Most likely the right ones. I think he can be trusted on this.
Will we get over IFF some day ?
