Perhaps a MP bug?

OK not even sure about this one as I’ve never seen this happen before. Two of us in the same flight had issues and had to reset and reconnect to the server which was still running. We reconnected just fine and the aircraft were already running. The problem was the throttle was completely non-responsive to inputs. We both did the same thing of exiting the server and comms and checking our configurations and both of us were getting proper responses in 2D. I then went into Instant Action to verify throttle response and it was fine in IA. I then reconnected to the server and committed to the flight again. Entered 3D and once again no throttle control. We had started this one as a ramp start. I ramp started with zero issues. I had to reconnect after the jet was good to go since I use TARGET and I think my USB hub is starting to die so it will randomly disconnect and reconnect. That reset throws TARGET for a loop and forces me to go back to the desktop. The other pilot missed the oil condition start and fried the engine and he had tried to do the older school restart to fix it. This one was REALLY weird.
I had same problem last night. Online session with eleven pilots. After several attempts I decided to enter in flight but the AI could not start the f16. Therefore aborted mission.

Fortunately, it seems to me this is a known issue based on Bad Boy’s post on Falcon Online.
@Bad:
6/ client side : try to not leave the 3D (for whatever reason) as much as possible during the Ramp start procedure (wait to be at least in the air (after take off) before leaving 3D) because there is an annoying know issue (not yet fixed) where the plane begin to move “nose up” slowly and if you want to join again this plane then the throttle is not working anymore (-> impossible to start the engine)

Any news on this bug? On our recent LAN, we had several people unable to fly a mission because of an unresponsive throttle after reconnect…
-
I had same issue, even after restarting bms completely throttle didnt work.
-
Same issue for me during my last MP session.

When this bug occurs do you see your throttle move one the cockpit ?
-
I had this bug also several times. Only encountered it in MP. And no, you don’t see the throttle move in the cockpit.
Besides, it is not just the throttle that doesn’t work, actually all axes seem to fail working (so also stick fwd-aft-left-right and rudder pedals). At the same time, all buttons on stick and throttle do work. I checked the controls in the UI setup right before going in to 3D, and there everything seems to work just fine. Only in 3D none of the axes work. -

No, throttle don’t move anymore as far as i can remember

Confirmed
-
Same for me yesterday…

Need a repro case.

hi Dee Jay,
what exactly do you need? At the falcon online forum, Bad Boy posted several recommendations for MP events; on May 3rd. His 6nd point said:–-

So, what kind of repro is needed at this time? And how do you propose this repro is obtained / what data do you need other than the examples mentioned in this thread?

I confirm it does happen.
I have noticed at least Throttle and Parking Brake Switch do not move in MP during Ramp, Standard KTO.
After the ramp is complete, then everything is normal and “starts” moving. -

IIRC this was also reported for SP about the throttle movement and it’s like that cause of the Idle detent if you don’t the throttle doesn’t move. Didn’t had the time to check it again. Maybe it’s the same and in MP? -
If BB has a solid repro case then its okay.
-
Give me sometime and repro video etc will be provided.

- open a MP session
- connect as client
- commit in ramp
- begin start up sequence until engine is running
- as soon as the engine is running, leave the game by disconnecting and restart the game (your ramp sequence is not finished indeed)
- at that stage, other client can see your jet going nose up
- connect again to the same jet (so engine is already running)
- try to move throttle => no joy
-
Tbuc, you seem to be talking about something different, as you don’t mention the disconnect/reconnect? Point is: it is impossible to rampstart, as throttle is not working at all. Not only not visibly moving, but completely nin functional.
-
You are right, Diver, and have indeed overlooked that point, I reckon now. My apologies, my sincere mistake.
What I have observed and I can reproduce in MP in KTO:I enter Ramp, Throttle not moving, Brake Switch not moving. I hear though the noise when I click the switch.
I do my ramp. Some point during my ramp (<- that still needs to be precisely determined), everything works i.e. is moving. It happens in MP. I will reproduce in a video. -

To take a moment of rest, I continued the rampstart by clicking the switches to their desired positions, altough that had no effect at that moment due to the lack of a running motor. Is it possible that there is a new mandatory sequence issue in the rampstart?
At a moment, I don not know which, I tried again the Jet Starter and then it responded.Next problem appeared at the 24% RPM. The idle detent did not work. Again, I tried several times and suddenly, it worked and I continued the rampstart procedure.
Known bug or did I miss something?
