I think shitty refers to the weather (bad weather), not the software.

picture worth than a thousand words,
Here’s what I’m trying to expressI agree the photographic aperture makes the lights brighter - but compare the PAPIS …
Yet there is a huge difference between real and BMS as far as the light brightness are concerned. A bright light makes a better job at runway approach lightning than a dull light.
the also try to see the blue taxi light on the BMS picture and look at the green light at the real picture.BMS airport are not always lighted, so when they are lighted, that’s for traffic to land. Then maybe the light should be a bit of more help. IMHO

lol, note to self: do not forget some have an extremely short fuze.
of course it’s weather -
@Red:
picture worth than a thousand words,
As you said … it’s a picture.
On my side, most of the airports I’ve made by night do not looks like this. Maybe the one located in the middle of a big city with lot of light pollution (Paris, Washington, LA …) … and/or when pilot request the max intensity … but most of the time, it is quite lower than this. And it becomes more identifiable once you are aligned.

fair enough
Maybe a compromise lies between the two picture above mate. As always
Any way. Point is done and the “picture” delivers the message anyway, after that we’re all entitled to our opinions -
… I mean … it is usable in game? Yes it is.
It there room for improvement, sure!
DX11 just arrived. Lets see what we can do with it. (If we have some ppl with the motivation to still work on it). -
… And look
!!!(okay … the runway lighting is absolutely not the reason why I’ve posted this video. just for the pleasure to share with you all. :D)

Talking about landing in the soup and at night!!! Creepy!!!

Imagine the “same” (dust-storm) with only six bottles filled with light-sticks as runway markings.

Jeez… the only real encounter i had is as a passenger going to Oslo. Approach at night and in the soup. Pilot ordered every electronic to turned off 100%,not in flightmode, as we where going for an complete ILS approach with no visual on the airport lol i can say that it was the 1st time in my life i was scared in flight!
On the subject there is room for improvement in all aspects within DX11 i believe but as it is said the thing is to find the time and the right people to do it. Every airport imho is unique in daytime, nighttime, bad weather, good weather. We dont know yet the possibilities of dx11 100% within the sim and what can be achieved.Στάλθηκε από το SM-G970F μου χρησιμοποιώντας Tapatalk

I was quite recently flying into Darwin, and didnt see the runway until inside a mile… granted wet season weather (territory VMC!), but still. And its not a small runway, and its in the middle of the city…Should be hard to miss.
Pretty sure tower thought I was inside a cloud.

From your airport list Dee-Jay. EYSA, Zokniai Airport. Similar to BMS 4.35 especially in the foreground.
-
THAT is a nice picture!
-
Agree in full, nice one Dee-Jay.
And BTW, cats have always been masters in all-weather landings when falling… see it to believe it
With best regards.

The AWACS frequency (default preset 6) is used to talk to AWACS by everyone in the theatre, right? Assuming that’s true, shouldn’t we be able to hear other flights make picture requests, declare contacts, etc? Is that not happening because the AI isn’t really communicating that way with AWACS or between itself?
Would be cool if there was such a thing to increase immersion, but I understand if it’s difficult to implement.

Every package has it’s own #6 preset freq, it’s not the same Frequency for every flight in the theater

Oh, that explains why it’s so quiet. It also makes sense I guess, to keep the noise down. The AI in the package still doesn’t request picture calls and similar though, right? I’ve never heard them. It’s a minor thing though, not sure if it’s worth implementing.

True. However, we may encounter some BIG issues if the chatter becomes too heavy.
You will have to delay a picture request and wait too long to be able to ID your target on time. There is no priorities in messages, they are simply put in queue. So you can imagine. So nice wile situation is “calm” … in other circumstances, you will have to refrain yourself from shooting at your package members to shut their mouths. -

That excatly what you are facing in those enviroments. I’m bored of those perfect declare calls in SP getting immedate response, not beeing steped over and so on. At least a request queue when flying with AI would add some immersion

Μy wishlist:
1. Make TFR 100% workable. Now its close to 95% as per real life. VLC is off.
2. CCRP needs attention.
3. Implement a random chance of missile failure after pickle. Small chance, but it would be nice if there was such an option. Things fail in real life, especially complicated stuff.
4. Increase CEP of dumb bombs.
5. JTAC.
6. Off boresight missiles (i.e. AIM-9X) mask.
7. Differentiate between TGP pods. Other symbology for Sniper, different one for Lantirn.
8. VHF or UHF must have an impact on IDM sequence.
9. L-16
10. ID# for ARH missiles.
11. SAM missiles with active radar homing.
12. SAM missiles with mid-course radar guidance but with IIR terminal homing.
13. Jammer. I am not saying RGPO, or VGPO per se. But something across those lines.
