@awmk1 Should be part of maintenanceās job description!

@dee-jay yes, I will play with some other versions or maybe Iāll release multliple choicesā¦ but some grunge and fingerprint is definitely looking good
-
Keep up the excellent work, combined with demaās for a very noticeable improvement in VR, my eyes thank you.

thanks for your hard work on thisā¦certainly is an improvement! Perfect mix between functionality and prettiness. Furthermore, love the continuous updates. Any plans to do a block 40?
-
@jstnj Iām glad you like it Well my time does not really allow more cockpits, and focusing on the .50 until its fully finished, or at least gets out from alpha. Until I draw the final colors and shading it is experimental, you might notice different color knobs changing all the time in the releases. Once its finalized, I will certainly seek for more cockpits.

Love it! But one thing the ICP wear is kinda too much, I rather have nice clean buttons
Somebody said that in real jets everything is getting replaced asap if it is getting worn out. -

Nope!

@rzax Thanks for the feedback!
When it gets completed, I am planning to release a clean and a worn version to fit everyoneās taste. Right now its not possible to have both as it would make double efforts of work on the files. -

Maybe referring to a statement from āRaptorā.
Quote: āOldā ādirtyā stuff are thrown out of real pits and then get sold to cockpit buildersā¦ lol"can be read here ā> https://forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/20473/cockpit-skins-enhancements/3

I tested the new textures ā¦and despite the work done, I m sorry to tell that but I m not convinced because I didnāt feel any strong enhancement throught my Odyssey G9 on which we can say the screen resolution is very good ā¦

@suhkoi69 This mod generally improves the readability of the text and the base textures in higher zoom levels. Some example of the untouched area and the reworked:

Yeah that was the one.

The sharper and clearer text is nice, but Iām not a fan of the panel screws and black panels.
Somehow the shiny, metallic screws are sticking out. Is that how it looks like in the real cockpit? Because the current ones are black in the game.
The texture of the black panels looks like itās been spray painted or really coarse. No idea if thatās how itās supposed to be in the real jet, but from the few pictures Iāve seen, it always seemed smoother.
Also, the text on the eyebrows seems like itās a sticker. Itās not really convincing as a light. Looks too sharp. The original one looks like itās proper backlit.

Dzus fastener looks like this:

@justonce01 yes, those screws were meant to be placeholders only, however they are already black and will be included in the next release.
Regarding the backlit effect my hands are little tied. I spent quite a few hours with several hiqh quality effects I designed which look great really, however all of them requires 16bit color depth textures instead of 8. Basically simulating light spread requires gradients (all sort of) to use and mix, but those do not look realistic with 8bit. I donāt know if the engine supports it at all also. Therefore I have taken back the light spread and instead put readable-from-far versions.
This applies to anything like the master caution button, aoa indexer etcā¦
Without realtime emitter shaders, there are simply limits.
