Santa's wishlist for BMS

@Crassus … for now you can see heading and speed for each steerpoint in briefing , so no really need for ruler …
Only you have to switch between breifing and map few times more…Cheers

Ground crew for land bases helping the taxi to dep and taxi to ramp.
Better land grapichs if possible.
A little of improvment on fps
New AI commands for help single player strategs ( but the atual stuation is pretty good )
REALY NEED ground trops moviment improvment for campaigns
Comms with simoutaneos AI on mission package, like call help to a escort package or recive more calls from him for a better mission flow
More comms with AWACS. Sometimes i take a DEAD mission for exemp but however, sometimes before my packge reaches the target, it is already destroyed. In fact, on a real battlefield if your aircraft can help at another nearby location, you are sent there. I believe this would be a good improvement for single player missions
Comms with AI on the same aircraft (bplaced) if possible. Simple comms like targeting and searching Ground targets

???
Since 4.35 the 4.36 gives me at least 50% FPS while I did not turn off many thing in CE…REALY NEED ground trops moviment improvment for campaigns
Pls. more elaborate.

WRT said wishlist, it got me wonder if radar detection range for aerial target takes RCS as a static value or is it aspect dependent?
Another thing is how difficult would be to multithread process of feeding data to the rendering queue, assuming gfx engine is still DX11.
IIRC I_Hawk said it’s still what generates most of the CPU usage.AFAIK Same problem plagues DCS, that’s why they are moving to Vulkan.
-
Campaign calculation cannot be done on GPU afaik
-
@MaxWaldorf
That’s right Max, but the way rendering queue is build is a reason why both DCS and BMS performance depends more on CPU single-thread performance. -
You’re 100% spot on. I use VR in DCS, IL-2, Assetto Corsa, iRacign and nearly any other flight or racing sim I can get away with. Depth perception helps with dogfights and spotting enemy contacts, and has greatly improved my flying/racing.
Paired with smart scaling to enhance the resolution of models (for people without the latest sets), BMS would be an absolute win for VR given the cost of entry, especially if the other cockpits (such as the F4) got some love too.I know I’m asking for the moon, but multicrew aircraft such as F16D, F4 and Tornado would be epic too - I love flying multicrew in DCS, and these two additions would definitely bring me back to BMS being my primary sim.

Even in SP3 time the RCS of the planes were not static.
In RP5 doc. you can find the eq. which adds the general and same aspect dependency.Also every plane as an RCS value in the DB.

The entire premise of this thread is FLAWED.
Santa’s wishlist.
1.) WHY would Santa even NEED a wishlist…?!
2.) WHY would Santa fly BMS when he prolly flies the DCS Sleigh module…?
-
@molnibalage
Cool to know, OTOH quite a few things that were written in RP5 manual weren’t exactly true, like IADS.@Aragorn said in Santa's wishlist for BMS:

I don’t know what the average age of BMS use is, but whatever it is it’d be embarrassing to admin one believes in Santa in such age.
Unless we’re talking about average mental age including you dear 'Gorny, then we’re about five. So then it’d be fine

Cool to know, OTOH quite a few things that were written in RP5 manual weren’t exactly true, like IADS.The RCS works because I tried ages ago flying with F-22 against. It was a piece of cake to kill everybody. So the RCS works but maybe the aspect dependency not. It means only 25% difference as I can remember.

Because the Sleigh got him stuck in the last MP session and the reindeers are a paid addon…
Santa got tired of paying… so he is back to the good old BMS Sleigh… Might not be shiny but at least it flies and doesn’t require 10 addons

A functioning Rate-of-Turn Indicator.
Fast forward to 13:18 . . . .

Request return of the old style HSI option.

Santa’s wishlist.

Haha excellent
Here it goes
The ARCHITECT: Although, within the “PREMISE” there is the communities prime directive "TO WANT MORE " and within the context lies the definitive truth, that within the Falcon source code construct lays all our dreams and desires. Thus the community will comply with this process that results in a cataclysmic crash, crushing all who are connected to the code which coupled by the extermination of “ZION” our highest peak of euphoria will ultimately result in a fatal extinction of flight sim enthusiasts. Some say no we won’t let that happen, but the answer is; there are some levels of survive ability that has been accepted. However the relevant issue is whether anyone exploring is willing to accept the responsibility of the Falcon World as we know it. It has been interesting reading the reactions of many, as per Falcons predecessors, it was meant to create a profound attachment to the species of flight simmers extending the function of the reality, where others in the general world experience this through just a glance of imagination where in this community it is thus said la visa vi - “LOVE FOR FLIGHT” as one looks in the mirror. Therefore the dilemma presents itself, which brings us at last to the moment of truth the fundamental flaw is ultimately expressed and the anomaly revealed as both beginning and end. There are two doors, the first door is to comply and/or participate to achieve the “ZION” state we desire. The second door leads to the reality we don’t always get what we want being that Santa is more like a Satanic persona in the shadows and his fat and ugly and lies all the time, being the end of our species as adequately put. The problem is “CHOICE” but we already know what the community is going to do it’s within our own flaw. Already the chain reaction has begun the chemical precursors that signal the onset of an emotional desire for more beyond our capability specifically to over whelm our reasonable logic and good reason, an emotion that is already blinding from the single and obvious enough truth, that it has its own identity and there is nothing you can do to control it. Now, hope is the quintessential human delusion that simultaneously is the greatest source of a communities strength and greatest weakness. Thus said to meet again on the same premise initiates the prime directive to no end and its flaw of three points - the disappointment, complaint and the ban hammer.

P.S. I tried.

I. will… never. post. again.

Dear Santa, will it be possible to get manual/ training scripts (mission.txt files) to work with .tac as well as with .trn missions?
-
@Crassus sure in 3000-4000 weeks
jokes aside - as there’s no nothing “bad” in interactive learning , … and therefore idea is not bad also
we, well most of us here, (not beginners) , learned to learn the old way … read then try - it is a “freaking” simulator in the end … you won’t die if made a mistake
If you don’t succeed in first attempt , try again,- then after 1000 time you don’t succeed , … change of tactics , … what am I doing wrong-
you can’t be James Bond directly from the diapers … even He finished some education before entering Secret Service
-
so interactive for simulator is kinda simulator in simulator - I really find this overcomplicating
on the other hand - people will forget to read in the end (already in progress for a long time - rtfm case)
So !, Don’t forget to read, eh? - and most important of it all, don’t forget to be BRAVE , … I’ve destroyed a jet … NO , you destroyed a virtual jet and killed your virtual self in process , … but miraculously you live another day and can try again … a bit smarter… IF learned from previous mistakes
