@MaxWaldorf - actually, most of the people here on the forum do a pretty good job of reporting (some of them without really realizing it, IMO) and constitute a goodly set of “operational testers”…the issue is having enough time/people to read, interpret, and sort all of this information/feedback into something of real use to the devs - which is pretty much what I do for a living, but with a far more limited set of contributors.
I tend to read the forum as if I’m debriefing RL aircrew, and then sort through what I read as to my perception of “ranking” from the POV of the devs. I use this approach to temper what I may or may not expect for a potential “fix”. Quite a bit of what I read as “broken” seems to me like it is only broken because it is new, and I expect it will mature over time - like the new JHMCS Alignment implementation. I’m hoping for big and interesting things from this one in particular!
…and I think one of the coolest ideas under discussion lately is being able to route sound source output to multiple/selected output devices, also realizing that this is potentially a big ask. But as a cockpit builder I would LOVE to be able to do this.

You should be a good beta tester finding the new bug. If you could give us a repro case… honestly, we don’t have enough testers since BMS is becoming a minority day by day as DCS World is getting larger and larger. Few people know there is another sim outside of this community, but I don’t think it’s because BMS is getting worse with bugs…
-
You’re welcome to continue using the older versions if they are “better” than 4.36. But my other thoughts about your completely unhelpful and ungrateful post can be summed up thusly:
-
I only see it getting better, and far less “arcade” like. “Simple” strikes are never simple, I think BMS has it right. Yep there are bugs, no doubt the tiny team are looking to rectify, but it’s free to own. The one you pay for is also full of bugs, lacks realism (graphics being the exception) and is also unfinished. Use it or don’t, up to you, but if you’ve got that big a gripe why not be part of the solution?

This one’s not gonna be positive but I feel its necessary. I’ve mostly refrained from flying 4.36 since its release due to the incredible amount of bugs present and now, even after the 3rd update there are still so many, SO MANY bugs present in every part of the game that it’s absolutely not fun to fly anymore. It’s really beyond my imagination why you guys put out releases like this.
I’ve been flying this game since it’s creation and I really have to ask, why do you people insist on making every new release WORSE than the previous one??
4.33 completely messed up the AG ordnance delivery, 4.34 messed up AI fuel management. 4.35 messed up SAM behavior, 4.36 has completely messed up AI’s being able to attack and ruined the campaign behavior in general. Just watch a simple unopposed strike in 2D from AI’s and look at the complete ineffectiveness.You keep adding a thing here and there but the very core of the game is rotten. Not a single weapon system works as it should, neither do other parts of the game. And improving one system in a new release while simultaneously making another system worse is NOT an improvement! TEST someting before you release it!!!
I understand why testing is severly limited, cause all of the squadrons that used to do that have left BMS. Why? Cause you give them sh!t. Not only what you put out as a release but also your behavior on the forum. All the sarcastic, negative, non-productive comments. Especially from MAVJP but others as well. Also all the other besser wisser forum pirates that think they have any clue what’s going on.
There have been soo many bugs for soo long, very serious KNOWN ones even and you still release it?! Many of them are not even noted by anyone. Why? Cause no one flies this game anymore. And the very few that do, fly arcade style and have no clue how messed up this game is.
Most of the serious reported bugs on this forum are completely ignored or met with the usual unproductive comments.
If you keep on going like this, every new release will bring BMS closer to its grave. I won’t be there cause I’ve given up already.
Troll Rating: 8
Normally, I’d give a 7, but it took a lot of negativity to have nothing better to do on Christmas Day, so I upped it a point. -
Just looking at your earlier posts:
https://forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/23784/gbu-24-and-ai
this one my VFS mates are also complaining and the AI striker is a bit useless sometimes…
I hope I could make Striker “SPIN” and drop them at WRL in the future…(I’m FNG in BMS coders and not knowing the BMS logic totally yet.)https://forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/23627/iam-hud-symbology
I remember this is also reported internally. I think older BMS had a unique DLZ for JDAM and it’s written in the current doc too but not appear in the current version of the sim.

For the possibility of an older joystick getting spike input Mav fixed some hung possibility…not sure if it’s working for your joysticks though. But I suspect its HW issues… I’ll recommend new WINNING F-16 joysticks.

@chihirobelmo let’s be honest…
None of the bugs you mentioned are deal breakers.
If they were, far more people would complain.
-
@Bowser very funny.

Meanwhile I’m still rocking a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro that I’ve had since 2004 when I started with Microsoft’s Combat Flight Simulator 3.
Apart from that time period where there actually was a bug with hung stores, I’ve never had issues with hung stores unless I destroy them by over-G’ing.But it’s certainly BMS’ fault when only a single person reports it and has a consistent issue with it, lol. /s

@MaxWaldorf
Yeah, have been in the community for almost 10 years I don’t find BMS making new bugs to be the main reason people are away from BMS day by day… It’s mainly because DCS has dozens of dedicated A/Cs and rich graphics. -
@Bowser I don’t want to offend you but I think your criticism is a bit excessive, the devs do everything possible to give us the best product, they work very hard selflessly and I don’t think they deserve this type of attack.
Obviously all games have errors, there are triple A studios with thousands of workers and an infinite budget that release products to the market with hundreds of bugs, what do you expect from bms?I believe that people leave bms not because of bms, people grow, family grows, responsibilities increase and free time decreases, unfortunately life goes on and we get old.
I sincerely hope that you continue with us, but if not, there are other alternatives on the market that may meet your needs, although I can tell you right away that you will not find anything like falcón bms. regards -
I am so, so, so, SO SO SO confused…!!
For the love of god, can SOMEBODY PLEASE teach me…
What is a “wisser besser forum pirate”…?
What the hell does that mean…?! I’m going crazy here.
.
The Gorny -
@Aragorn I think he means a https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Besserwisser. The “forum pirate” reference is probably for someone who is more on the forums than actually playing the game and thus never coming across the bugs he encounters.
Does the Bluwolf bug tracker still exist, or is it replaced by posts to Tech Support subforum ?
-
@jayb we only read the forum for bug reports…
Now, to be honest, I read again the first post and I find it more and more insulting.
Very inconsiderate for a team of passionate dev team.
@Bowser If only your bug reports were half as good as the quality you praise for…
If this is a joke, this is not funny.
If this was not then go bother someone else!Go back to Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach…
Max out and thread closed…

Sorry, Max. I need to give a word here.
Yes, I know there are bugs. You probably don’t know how much time we spend fixing bugs. Sometimes a bug can take up a month of hard work. It is not like we ignore bugs. We simply don’t have enough manpower to deal with them all. And curiously, we are reducing the scope of releases exactly to minimize this accumulation effect and have a more polished release.
And yes, new features introduce more bugs. But without new features, people lose interest in the product. So there is a fine line here to walk.
But the reason I wanted a word here is MavJP reference. I have had my shares of disagreements with JP. I also shared some really cool projects with him (and I still do). Now, one thing I am 100% sure of: you will not find another person so passionate about this simulator as JP. You may disagree with him, that is fine. But you have to at least show him some respect.
